I've been reading a lot. So the bookmark I got for Christmas has been coming in handy.
Basically, setup at work today took like two seconds so I wandered the bookstacks while we were waiting for orientation kids to show up. And I read half of the book I got because we did nothing for another hour and a half.

Books on marketing, storytelling, behaviour and life...for me relating to social media and becoming more open, sharing, helpful.
Jacqueline Carey grimly spoofs the Lord of the Rings. Who's evil? Who's good? The elves here are terrible racist snobs, humanity is no better, the Gods are either absent or horrific. Oh, they're not orcs, please. Dragons, dwarfs, and 'heroes'.
Andrew Schrader writes spoofy, somewhat cheesy horror and heroic fantasy. Well done.
Gabriel Squailia's world is odd, insect-y, obsessed with body-horror and gender identity. The gods might be dead but their body parts are usable for other purposes. Not for the easily offended or squeamish.
It's Jack Vance! My favorite author. Here's a collection of early-ish stories, some of which I'd never read.
Brendan Bellecourt (Bradley Beaulieu) writes a steampunk ('deco-punk') tale set in the years after WW I, with robots (of course), super science, evil scientists and monstrous conspiracies. Fun and deeply paranoid.
And a collection of articles about my recent (plant) obsession. Brad had an interesting sense of humor.
The British Museum's Great Court.

The first step in the recreation of the Great Court was the demolition of the undistinguished post-war buildings that served as bookstacks around the drum of the Reading Room. The southern portico, which was demolished to enlarge the Museum’s entrance hall in the 1870s, has been reinstated to a new design.
To allow the Great Court to be used no matter what the weather, it is covered with an undulating glazed roof. It has no visible supports to detract from the restoration of the classical facades around it. Instead it spans the gap between the facades and the drum of the Reading Room as a self-supporting structure.
The undulating, minimal steel latticework supports 3,312 unique triangular glass panels. Each one is different in size and shape because of the roof’s complex geometric form, which results from the fact that the Reading Room is not exactly in the centre of the Great Court, but is 5 metres closer to the northern portico. A specially written computer programme was required to work out the exact dimensions and angles of each panel, each of which has been sponsored by an individual or company.
