Ho sempre amato leggere. Fin da quando ero bambina l'odore dei libri mi ha affascinato come niente altro. Forse perchè dormivo vicino ad una grande libreria e mi addormentavo guardando i colori dei dorsi impilati in bell'ordine sugli scaffali. Sognavo il momento in cui avrei potuto finalmente prenderli e capire quello che c'era scritto, senza farmelo raccontare. Però li "leggevo" lo stesso, libri vecchi senza figure, con copertine più o meno colorate. Mi immaginavo storie e avventure, con fate e principesse e tutte, sempre, con un finale grandioso.
Non ho perso l'abitudine di sognare e ancora mi affascina l'odore della carta stampata; un libro, prima di leggerlo, lo devo annusare e sentire se "sa di libro".....

This was the book that Ann and I produced during the lockdown year of Covid. We stayed completely in our local area and concentrated on the macro world of natural history. The amount of species obtained were far less than normal but we did find a few new ones which was great surprise.
A day ago I put on the original photo of the camera(s) that was used for the dust jacket.

Die Aufnahmen in “writing on the wall” sind teilweise in Farbe und teilweise in Schwarzweiss. Teilweise wurden sie mit halbwegs zeitgemässen Kameras aufgenommen, teilweise mit verschiedenen älteren analogen Modellen.
Professionell gestaltet von des Sekretärs Tochter, hat er nun zwei Musterexemplare bei einem Hersteller hochwertiger Fotobücher herstellen lassen – einfach, um es einmal in die Hand zu nehmen und ein Gefühl zu bekommen, wie es wirken könnte. Ganz zaghaft fängt er nun an, nach möglichen Verlagen zu schauen.
Hier sieht man Pedro bei einer ersten Durchsicht. Er findet es recht interessant.

Secretary is working semi-seriously on a rather crazy project: his first book.
The photographs in “writing on the wall” are partly in color and partly in black and white. They were partly taken with reasonably modern cameras, partly with various older analog models.
Professionally designed by Secretary's daughter, he has now had two sample copies produced by a manufacturer of high-quality photo books - simply to hold it in his hand and get a feel for how it might look. Very tentatively, he is now starting to look for possible publishers.
Here you can see Pedro taking a very first look. He finds it quite intersting.
When I find loose book pages, I like to try to find out what book they came from. This is "A Kind of Magic, an Autobiography" by Edna Ferber (1963)

Today is a green day at Color My World Daily Group and that is it!
And since I had a very crazy day yesterday, I post an “old” picture.
It is super hot ( +40 !!) in Montreal and of course we have air conditioning problems. Our sleeping rooms feel like you are sleeping in the oven at 350F and broil at the same time. Now I know exactly how you feel if you are a pizza !!!
We called someone for maintenance and the guy came and did his job. Everything was fine, until the very precise minute he left in his car… Our air conditioning started to make this very loud noise like it is crying or screaming for help…. Since I’m a pessimist, I think it is a dying sound…But I may be wrong since the noise is making us crazy and prevent all clear thinking from anybody in the house….
So please send me some positive vibes or someone who knows how to repair the damn thing! And some ear plugs would be appreciated!
Have a beautiful day my friends!! I have another video meeting in my salon office, and I have to grab at least two cups of a very strong coffee since I barely had some sleep!

An old library ? It is , but I have not been visiting old stately homes or country mansions - in fact taken on the oven top pop up studio in the light box studio . In reality this is only only a Kindle cover - an electronic book encased in old traditional library of books .
There is no mark of who designed the library scene , enough to say not my creation , just my photo of it as it is quite eye catching !!
