I won this little boxwood, and the pot, in a raffle at last year's Greater Hartford Bonsai Society show. It used to have some branching structure and was about twice as tall, but some little critters decimated it. It was down to a single set of leaves when spring came around, but it's been growing quickly.

Still needs to be fired, but looks promising. This a dark almost black firing clay. I hope it will nicely offset the slip I used.

Moss at the edges to hold in the bonsai soil, and then the soil itself. I used a mix of medium and large size, with a top layer of the larger size to resist being moved by watering.
The wiring, and a very little bit of trimming, accentuates the natural flat characteristic of the main trunk, and lays out the secondary trunk in an echoing curve.
Not sure whether to lay it all really flat, or to develop a bit more of an apex int he main trunk.
I need to find a better backdrop...
I threw this pot on my kickwheel. After trimming the bottom of the pot I added 3 sculpted feet. I then added a spike design to the lower half of the pot.
I glazed this pot with 3 different glazes. First an iron oxide and the a fudge ripple at the top. I dry brushed a sandstone glaze over the bottom half of the pot. I think it turned out great!!
