Bone procurement workshop was organised to train local surgeons especially orthopaedic in performing procurement surgery on deceased donors. This training is intended to increase pool of trained surgeon in hoping that it will improve coordination and prevent delay in handling deceased donors. 3 cadavers were used in an hands on practical session. The workshop is an inter agencies collaboration between the Malaysian Society of Cell and Tissue Banking (MACTB), Department of Orthopaedic University Malaysia, MAHSA University, Transplant Unit Ministry of Health and National Transplant Resource Centre. The Ministry sponsored 39 participants in this workshop. Lectures were mostly delivered by local speakers and we invited Prof Aziz Nether from the National University of Singapore.
I've started to sew boning channels for my mock-up stays using my sewing machine. Using a sewing machine is obviously not historically accurate but its both faster and sadly neater than my current hand sewing.
A friend found this at the beach one day, claims it is a whale bone. Anyone know for sure?
The coloring is mold/mildew from sitting on the porch steps.

Caught a glimpse of this little skull on the side of the road while hunting down autumn photos.
I took a moment to arrange this because I thought the white bone against the rich red was glorious! ...and so Georgia O'Keeffe-esk. (one of my faves)
Another of the first shots with the new Canon Rebel. Just a bone in a tree out in the woods. I don't know what kind of bone or how it got there :)
BONES.....AMERICAN BULLDOG/BOXER mix. He is approximately 1 years old. He is a neutered male American Bulldog/Boxer mix. He is up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. Bones was found wandering the street weighing only 30lbs. He now weighs a healthy 90lbs. He is full of energy and life. He thinks he is a lap dog. He is very affectionate and lovable. Unfortunately, he is fighting for alpha male status with my 5yr. old male mix. Therefore, we can't keep Bones. He needs to go to a home where he will be the only dog. I do not know how he is with children. Also, the person who takes Bones needs to be able to handle a large dog and be responsible with him concerning meeting new people, going on walks, etc. Bones just wants to be loved, and in a home where he is the only pet, I think he will be happy. He is such a sweetie that it breaks our hearts that we can't keep him.
