Bone procurement workshop was organised to train local surgeons especially orthopaedic in performing procurement surgery on deceased donors. This training is intended to increase pool of trained surgeon in hoping that it will improve coordination and prevent delay in handling deceased donors. 3 cadavers were used in an hands on practical session. The workshop is an inter agencies collaboration between the Malaysian Society of Cell and Tissue Banking (MACTB), Department of Orthopaedic University Malaysia, MAHSA University, Transplant Unit Ministry of Health and National Transplant Resource Centre. The Ministry sponsored 39 participants in this workshop. Lectures were mostly delivered by local speakers and we invited Prof Aziz Nether from the National University of Singapore.
