We're going to ride the Ferris Wheel

of Life and when it gets to the top,

We'll review each of the blessings we've

received, they never seem to stop!

Round and round we go

never stopping, never wondering

our life's struggle have it's beginning

it will always have it's end

As long as there's beauty in the sunrise,

The sound of laughter at a sweet surprise

A child reaching for our hands to hold

The ride on Life's Ferris Wheel, we'll savor

Knowing we've received blessings of God's favor,

Our hearts will be happy and

we'll never grow old!

Just a quick upload tonight for me, the humidity has spiked and I made the bonehead decision to turn the oven on today so I'm a little wiped out from the heat. I think this calls for a luke warm shower to bring my body temperature back down to normal.

I'm hoping a storm is coming our way this evening to break the humidity and judging by how dark the house is getting and how gray the clouds look through the windows, I may just be in luck!

I hope you all had a wonderful day, and to all my American contacts, I hope you've all had a wonderful Independence Day!

This is an older moc that was built for a collab that never materialized, and I forgot to post it for almost a year. It's based on an early Boneheads of VooDoo Island prototype that predated Bionicle, a snippet of which was seen in a video posted by Christian Faber.

Pre-Peak Autumn Foliage in the Shenandoah National Park of Virginia

One from my archives. We can only imagine that this is probably how the foliage is currently displaying because the #!@%^$* U.S. Government shutdown is keeping us out of our National Park here in Virginia. #Boneheaded #Jerks

I didn't post this image in 2011 because I don't care for the tight crop after the stitch. I'm gonna have to start shooting my panos as vertical images - am losing far too much image at top/bottom after stitching.

THANKS FOR VIEWING!

Early morning stillness at Rannoch Moor, Scotland. There's a busy road 180° behind this scene but it's still a tranquil place to enjoy the light and reflections.

I uploaded the three remaining photos I had queued (and letting flickr choose which one is on top), there's little difference between them, but I'm now done with uploads from Rannoch moor until if and when I go back there.

Congratulations to Scotland on the elections, fair and square way to resolve an issue, that's the way to do it, no one cut each others heads off, or shoot down a civilian airline, or bomb a market or form a rebel militia. A lesson for the boneheads living just a 3 hours flight away.

It took me a while to figure out why - beyond the light grey substitute for white - I didn't care for this "heritage" livery. Apparently, new paint technologies incorporate an anti-glare formulation. In this case, it means the once-ubiquitous black below the windscreen is missing.

Along with the grey fuselage substitute, another bonehead corporate-think decision.

The devil wears Red.

So apparently this is the 'dirtiest' election campaign yet...from the main parties...

umm, i may be a simple engineer, but ffs have these boneheads looked at their ad campaigns ? attack/smear.. its proven to work and they keep doing it..like last time... like the time before that...

Heres some free advice... lead from the top and show some courage and balls and then the plebs may have half a hope of acting in some sort of level of civility.

I sure as hell can't wait until this election is over...

I have come to judge people on the way the argue.

After quite some time I have come to realise that often,

its not what perspective or opinion which is considered 'right' or 'wrong' or even which one you actually end up agreeing with or/and connecting with, but more the way the argument is put forth by each person. This is what determines respect and worth of a person, particularly so in the social media scene where you may never physically meet the person.

Its when you can see the reasons and justifications of the other side and it is put forward in a way that encourages open minded debate with respect have you reached a acceptable level of civility.

Civility and restraint have seem to have been lost somewhere along the way and there are too many people acting like boneheads and they seem to be attracted to photography communities ;)

Pet macaws thrive on frequent interaction and attention from their owners, and a lack of this can lead to their mental and physical suffering. Other sub-bondings also take place and most macaws that are subjected to non-aggressive behavior will trust most humans, and can be handled even by strangers if someone familiar is also alongside.

It should be noted that photography is essentially harmless and aesthetics are not intrinsically a moral issue, and therefore people should do any bonehead thing they please as long as they’re not hurting anyone. Well worth remembering the next time somebody tries to tell you that your fascination with {insert unfashionable photographic technique here} indicates your lower moral status and general unfitness to be seen in company.

Peekaboo! From the old Restless Void sim. A bit of whimsy from yours truly.

Hi Folks,

I just published a new imaging project on my website.

Barnard 150 - The Seahorse Nebula (18.3 hours in LRGB).

This is a dark nebula located about 1,200 light-years away in the constellation of Cepheus.

This year, I have begun targeting "Dark Nebulae." These are not seen from the light they emit; instead, they are dark clouds that can be seen by the background sky they obscure.

I had a really hard time processing this image. I got it where I wanted it, only to discover that when I zoomed in, I had some awful artifacts from Noise Reduction. I ended up reprocessing this seven times, trying to tame this issue.

The result has tamed it and perhaps gone too far.

But the real problem here was not the noise. The real problem was that I chose the wrong scope to image this with, which put me at a significant disadvantage.

It was a bonehead move, and I should have known better.

The whole story behind this, as well as a complete processing walkthrough, can be seen here:

Thanks for looking!

Clear Skies,
