If you have never tried bone marrow, you my friend, are missing out. Just go to the grocery or market and ask for cow bones. They are super cheap and easy to make. If it's not cut ask the butcher to cut it up for you anywhere between 1 inch and 3 inches. Just make sure they are all the same size. Put them on a pan and pop them in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. OR if you are making soup pop these bad boys into the soup for flavor and a tasty marrow treat. To eat, take a small fork and pull out the marrow. It may look fatty but its packed with nutrients. You can eat it by itself (my favorite way) or spread it onto crusty bread. YUM!!!!
I was bored working in the photo lab today, so I decided to do a little project.
I first googled "skeleton" and found one that I thought I could kind of draw and drew it out on some tracing paper. I did it on tracing paper so it would show through to the photo paper when I exposed it to the light (the photo below). Then I wrote directly on the photo paper with a sharpie. and placed the ribcage drawing on top of that. Then I exposed it and developed it. I put a foggy negative in the enlarger so that it would make it less dense. :) I love doing stuff like this. The words are lyrics to John Mark McMillan's song Skeleton Bones.
The start of my "learn to paint minis/Paint all my Bones" project, I present my Dire Rats. This was the first time I attempted both a wash and dry brushing. I have to say that the wash of Nuln Oil made these look a thousand times better than just the base coat. I'm a little disappointed with my dry brushing, but there isn't a lot of detail to hit on these particular minis.
My recharge base... I snap myself in to this base every night once the kids are in bed. My big comfy brown leather chair and my big comfy favorite green sweatshirt (a souviener from a 1998 sailing trip to Rockland, ME).
The wrinkle fairy seems to visit me weekly now... she gives and gives. This kind of pic is way outside of my comfort zone.

People from across the region and beyond took to the streets of Manchester this morning to say farewell to PC Fiona Bone.
The Greater Manchester Police officer was killed as she responded to an incident in Hattersley, Tameside, shortly before 11am on 18 September.
Today, 4 October, saw PC Bone’s funeral service take place at Manchester Cathedral.
The service included readings, poems and prayers along with tributes from colleagues. The Force’s Chief Constable, Sir Peter Fahy, spoke of Fiona’s skills as a police officer and her commitment to the job she loved.
The route to the cathedral was lined by police officers from every UK police force, who volunteered to come to Manchester and provide policing cover to allow local officers to attend the service.
The funeral of PC Nicola Hughes, who was killed in the same incident, took place at Manchester Cathedral yesterday (4/10/12).
