The boys scored big on our walk to the park today. First I took a piece of backbone from Link, then I noticed Frank had a piece of shoulder or hip bone and Jimmy Dean had half a jaw bone. Frank even had a canine tooth. As soon as I would take one bone away they would grab another. They found the scattered remains of an opossum skeleton

A human bone, 65 years has lain in the ground. "Невский пятачок"

Detail from plate 9 - engraved anatomical illustration of the bones of the foot from: Anatomy improv'd and illustrated with regard to the uses thereof in designing. (London: John Senex, 1723).

This volume of engraved plates and text was originally published in Rome in 1691, and was re-engraved and republished in London in 1723. The dissections were done for the Italian edition by Bernardino Genga, Professor of Anatomy and Surgery and physician in the hospital of San Spirito in Rome, and the explanatory text by the papal physician Giovanni Maria Lancisi (1654-1720). The book, designed for artists rather than medical students, includes plates of famous classical statues from Rome and is described as 'A work of great use to painters, sculptors, statuaries and all others studious in the noble arts of design'.

The English edition is dedicated by the publisher to Richard Mead, FRCP, FRS (1673-1754), 'a favourer of the politer arts'.

Part of the Anatomical Atlases in Special Collections & Archives, SPEC Anatomy 6. Cropped inscription on the titlepage, 'Tho. Dixon's Book 1799' and the pencilled name' Miss Annie Jackson, 19 North Street' on the front flyleaf, with pencil measurements possibly from a dissected skeleton on the back of the last (index) page.

The volume has had some plates cut out, but has also been grangerised with later anatomical illustrations pasted in.

This postcard is a twilight view of the then new Republic Bank building. But it shows the Pulley Bone Diner that once anchored the point where Bryan intersects Pacific. This triangular piece of land is where Thanksgiving Square is now located.

In the 1920s there was a gas station where the Pulley Bone is.

My mom worked downtown in the 50s and she swears she saw Dana Andrews the movie star in the Pulley Bone one day at lunch.

How exactly does this happen?

Mr. Bones always smiles with his happy skull. His eyes wickedly sparkle like flakes of fire. It's easy to understand you should better have no dealings with him. Too much of tricky thoughts and cunning ideas have found a shelter in this seemingly hollow head. Mr. Bones often whispers something even if nobody is around. He talks to his best friend, Jolly Roger (actually it is his black hat).

Mr. Bones is mad about treasure maps and if you have one he will make everything you want to get it. But don't abuse him a lot and please remember - he's already dead and you're not.

No sewing machine or any other kind of machine was used while creation. Only hands, needles, threads, a lot of different materials and premonition of Halloween.

advertising generally baffles and annoys me, and almost without exception makes me angry enough to kill people. on rare occasions a product or the marketing for it will endear itself to me, and that's the case here. i like to think that someone here, at some point between concept and final product launch, knew exactly what the hell was going on, but kept his or her mouth shut and allowed a single entendre to jump into the marketplace naked, fully erect and pumped full of industrial-strength viagra. focus your attention just below playful puppy and keep your hands out of your lap: yes, these are supposed to be for children (caution: autoplaying video that is also hilarious).

She got the biggest bone.

This is one of my two newest dice. They both look the same. They are some of the coolest dice I have ever seen. They feel really cool in my hands and they have a really neat shape.

Random Fact: I collect dice.

The Search for Animal Chin (1987). A lovingly corny skateboarding video starring the breakout "Bones Brigade" directed and produced by Stacy Peralta, of Powell Peralta Skateboards.

Starring Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero. It actually had "a plot!"

A movie I loved in 1987 and recently re-watched on DVD with some hilarious directors cuts and bonus disc of interviews with the original cast giving background. I guess you could sort of call this the "pink flamingos" of skateboard videos. It's so absurd it's great, and they skaters actually try to act. Well, a little.

Film also includes smaller parts by other 80's skaters. San Francisco Scene: Jim Thiebaud, Jesse Martinez, Bryce Kanights, Doug Smith. Bakersfield Scene: Chris Borst, Bobby Reeves, Charlie Dubois, Ray Underhill, Adrian Demain, Donny Griffins, Kevin Lambert. Johnny Rad Party Scene: Mike Vallely, Rodney Mullen, Per Welinder, Natas Kaupas, Arron Murray, Kevin Harris.
