f/1.8
Lights close to Carol on Fremont Blvd on a rainy Saturday night. Shot wide open in f/1.8 with Fujinon 75mm f/1.8. The flaring and trailing lights are heavenly unusual.
A portrait series exploring the feeling of dysphoria. Disconnection between the self and the reflection, between presence and perception.

More griddle biscuits.
Scones, biscuits, etc. Whatever you want to call them. Food, sustenance, breakfast.
Baked on a griddle on the stove top. Takes about 20 minutes, very low flame under the griddle.
This time I put diced apple and cinnamon in the batter. Mmmm.
Strobist: Manual exposure and strobe settings. Single sb800 to right of camera at same height as camera. Fired in commander mode 1/10th power
No real focus in this one........
I still love the most wonderful light in it...
to me it looks like painted with light!

24 October 2012 | "Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther.... And one fine morning — So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
While in London, we visited the Christmas Village at Liberty. These lights stretched upon every inch of the ceiling, and gave me a wonderful opportunity to play with the aperture and depth of field of my new 50mm lens.
Quoting Gatsby just because I was reading the book today, and that final paragraph is always so poignant.

No, I didn't do cutesy little bokeh shapes or anything like that. But I figured I owed it to myself to try a bokeh tree shot.

I caught Zadoc the Imperial Jumptrooper when he was running away from the police the other night. He absolutely refused to go to jail (which you can see in the background), so he ran away and the police car followed him. Apparently he had stolen too much of his precious vitamin-loaded crispy gold (= cornflakes) and now he is in big trouble. Will he get away? Stay tuned and find out...

Sometimes you hear a song, and it's so lovely and heartfelt and touching that it unexpectedly makes you find recall in your life that relates. The one that did it for me this week was Elbow's "Friend of Ours".
It brought back memories of someone lost, someone no longer on this human plane of ours, and someone that I do miss, despite not speaking with him for years before his life ended. It's something that always leaves you to wonder if you could have done anything to stop the final loss from happening, but it's too late now. All you can do is send your love out into the infinite cosmos, hoping that they're out there and that they get your message.

Lyrics:
Before leaving get to the bar.
No one round here makes you pay.
Never very good at goodbyes.
So (gentle shoulder charge).
Love you mate.
Love you mate.
Salford skyline blue.
Always you.
Could fly round any corner.
'Til you do
Love you mate.
