Like in nature, where trees shed their leaves in order to survive the winter months, we also have to let go of those we can no longer hold in our heart. Sometimes we are afraid of letting go, but holding on to things that are dying will make a part of us die off too.

thought i'd post one more photo before the day's end. tomorrow i will be busy preparing for a one-week road trip (California to New Mexico) and may not have time for Flickr. i will try to visit your streams if and when i can while on the road. if not, i shall see you all when i get back on the 20th!

My summer straw hat was placed over my bedside light to try to diffuse the light for a photo I was taking of something else. I didn't realise the light coming through the tiny holes of the straw hat would produce such great light/bokeh/shapes. :-)
