From Trillium Lk... It bogles my mind to think of how many pictures of the mountain have been taken from this vantage point, but if you have a camera in your hands, you will take the shot! alw
These are Green Fields of France just outside Dinard in Brittany. Far different from the fields as described in the song 'No Man's Land' written in 1976 by Eric Bogle. It later became a huge hit for 'The Fureys & Davey Arthur' titled 'The Green Fields of France'. Some say it is probably the best anti-war song ever written. As soon as I saw this scene the song came to mind.
I will circle the universe ...
looking for your heart
in the dark ...
I will cross the universe ...
bring your soul
who languish ...
I will disappear in the fog of the darkness of your mind ...
disappeared.......
disappeared.......
disappeared.......
between your two eyes...........

Lena wants to thank you all for your warm welcome the other day!
She wanted to show you one of the (still wip) outfits we are working on now, but... she fell asleep as soon as she got dressed up. Oh well!
We are already working on our new collection, but it's still too early to show anything to you!
We will just say 2 words:
PASTEL AND UNICORNS ♥
Follow us on:
________
COLORES PASTEL Y UNICORNIOS ♥
Rock my audible
Headphone Grapes of Wrath
Drift off to oblivion
You think I care, I just don't care
I just don't care
I'm barely there
I just don't care...

First in a series of 17 portraits of all my foster dogs for a show called "Lost & Found: The Art Of Dog Rescue"
Frazier was our first foster dog. He is a beagle/boston terrier mix and at the time of rescue was 9 years old. He was adopted in March 2008 after being in foster care with us for a total of 4 months. His name is now Fred and lives in Old Orchard Beach, ME.
Neilson and I were paired for a studio portrait assignment in Photo Arts 5. The results were amazing.

Hold On
Hold on to what is good,
Even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe,
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do,
Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life,
Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand,
Even if someday I'll be gone away from you.

A poignant reflection by Eric Bogle on the Gallopoli Campaign. A long clip but worth a listen.
Today we pause to remember.
A visit to Bogle's Sunflower Fields is always a summertime delight. You always come home with a smile on your face.
Taken in New Orleans, LA in late November 2008. I was on a community service trip rebuilding houses.

This is a section looking down inside the Wishing Well at The National Botanic Garden of Wales today. Caption is the title of a song written and recorded by singer / songwriter Eric Bogle who originally came Bogle came from Scotland but emigrated to Australia many years ago.
Those who have seen the TV series Monarch of the Glen will recognize this as the wonderful Glenbogle Castle. We were surprised to see it show up across a loch. We later learned it is really Ardverikie House, a 19th-century Scottish baronial house in Invernessshire.

Bogle Seed Farm, Ontario..a lovely place, that was overrun by people seeking selfies, walking into the fields, trespassing and breaking plants. They have stopped future viewings. Luckily I was there before the madness.
I have just learned that Bogle seeds public visiting and photography has been shut down by local police as a safety hazard. It seems some drivers behaved in ways that endangered themselves and other drivers amidst a large number of vehicles that came in Saturday to visit this sight. I can understand police wanting to protect public safety but once again a few idiots have ruined things for those more responsible visitors. The result – no more public visitation for this year. Anyway….
The image is an attempt to try to emulate the work of some of my early inspirations, the works of Ansel Adams. In the colour original, the bright yellow of the petals stood out against the deep blue of the early morning sky that I translated, as best I could, into a fairly high tonal contrast representation and furthermore, cropping the image square to focus attention to the bloom. And, finally, this is a Monochrome Monday submission. Enjoy - JW

Tech Details:
Taken using a hand-held Nikon D7100 fitted with an AF-S DX Nikkor 12-24mm f/4.0 lense set to 12mm, ISO100, Aperture priority mode, f/7.1, 1/640 sec. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: set final image size to be 9000x6000, convert to black-and-white and in so doing reduce the red and green gamma values to get a suitable base tonal range, set exposure compensation to EV+1.60 brighter than as-shot, lower the black level slightly, very slightly increase contrast in L-A-B mode, boost saturation (not Chromaticity since that has no impact on a B&W converted image) to darken the sky, enable Shadows/Highlights and recover highlights as well as pulling up shadows slightly, sharpen (edges only), save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: load the image as 2 layers, bottom layer to adjust the lower half of the petals in the sunflower and the top layer to adjust the overall image, add a black/transparent layer mask to the top/overall layer and using soft-edged white brush on the mask paint in the lower brightest petals, on the bottom/petals layer adjust the tone curve and contrast-brightness tools to get a good tonal representation of the bright petals so they do not blow out, on the top/overall layer adjust the tone curve to get a good tonal range on the rest of the image, sharpen, create new working layer from the visible result, save, crop the image to 6000x6000, sharpen slightly, save, add fine black-and-white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 1800 wide for posting online, sharpen slightly, save.

A beautiful example of Japanese Metabolism in the center of Melbourne. Very much influenced by Kenzo Tange, I believe. This unloved treasure was threatened with demolition the last time I was here. It's now been heritage listed, but its current owners are trying to delist it, so that they can tear it down.
