San Juan, Puerto Rico. Es increible como nuestra ciudad capital produce tantas y tantas imagenes ya sea en interes humano como en otros diversos temas como este por ejemplo. Llevo sobre 30 años visitando con mi camara San Juan y hasta las vitrinas de las tiendas me brindan la oportunidad de poder expresar mi talento de forma comoda y entretenida. Al pedido de la gente el comienza a cantar y a tocar su güiro con mucha alegria y salero, con la esperanza de que le dejen una que otra monedita en el envase que ven al lado de sus pies. Esta foto es una de las muchas que le han hecho, ya que el no teme a las camaras y como siempre muy sonriente accede a estas.

Whoa, is this film ever undervalued! I hate to say it, but I think the scorn aimed at Blue Steel is largely from incensed Napoleonic dudes who refuse to accept that an action flick can be capably helmed and opened by two women. Well, chauvinists beware, because this film is a celebration of the police drama, erotic thriller, slasher film, and b-movie all wrapped up in one tidy package that slyly subverts phallic fixation!
I appreciate Blue Steel for both its serious endeavors (e.g. its subtle deconstruction of gender politics in the police force) as well as its immense camp appeal (Ron Silver's overacting, the bombastic final showdown, the preposterous way in which a police cap sits atop Jamie Lee Curtis' head ...). It's rare to find films that manage to both titillate and provoke thought, but Blue Steel is one such film. 4/5

The Canadian Police force is an elusive beast... At times, they will stop at nothing to ruin your day-- maliciously ticketing you for public displays of drunkeness. However, it seems that maybe the IOC and the city of Vancouver told these guys to relax a bit and let the party happen. They seemed pretty cool with everybody as long as nobody was getting hurt. Until you start fuckin with newspaper boxes and the front of the HBC window... then you are going to get a beat down.

Sometimes the are parts laying around the studio, odds and ends from other projects, that just seem meant for each other. Kind of like Zen design. Works for us.

One of my best mates, taken today in Somerset. Known him since Uni days and he has visited me many many times over the years. He just spent the last couple of weeks celebrating his 40th and I'm glad he shared it with me in Singapore. Safe travels back to Melbourne bud.

The bomb displayed in front of the Vulcan is the Avro Blue Steel stand off nuclear missle, this weighed 7.7 tons, had a range of 575 miles & a yeild of 1.1mt. This was Britains nuclear deterrent until the advent of the Polaris Missle delivered from Royal Navy Submarines, from 1968.
