While packing up my equipment from the sunset shoot at Martins Beach, Ca, I looked up and saw this scene with a lone photographer. Much different from the up close and personal shots of waves coming in I took earlier this evening.

Singing the winter blues...such a melodious song.
Happy 2017 Flickr peeps! May the New Year bring you good light.
As this flower in my mum's garden was struggling to bloom out of season, she was doing the same and sadly the fight left in her just wasn't enough, she passed away last week a month before her 83rd birthday. She was my greatest teacher in this school of life.
What are heavy? Sea sand and sorrow.
What are brief? Today and tomorrow.
What are frail? Spring blossoms and youth.
What are deep? The oceans and truth.

Blue hour view from the belvedere above Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily.
Wiki info:
Castellammare del Golfo (Sicilian: Casteddammari; Latin: Emporium Segestanorum / Emporium Aegestensium) is a town and comune in the Trapani Province of Sicily. The name is roughly translated "Sea-Fortress (castle [on the] sea) of the Gulf", deriving from the medieval fortress in the harbor. The body of water it sits upon also takes its name from the fortress, Gulf of Castellammare.
From its marina/port, abounding in restaurants and bars, which is named "Cala Marina" you can go up either by winding steps or long staircases or streets that lead to piazza Petrolo with its magnificent views or towards the main central gardens (Villa Comunale) where the town center lies with many shops, cafes and restaurants.
The St. Louis Blues won their first ever Stanley Cup championship in professional ice hockey over the Boston Bruins. Named after Lord Stanley of Preston, Governor General of Canada who enjoyed ice hockey, the silver cup has been present annually since 1892 -- and from the Blues' first season in 1967 until now, St Louis had never won. A great weekend to everyone!
A long exposure taken on Derwentwater in the English Lake District using a Lee big stopper and a Lee 3 stop ND grad filter. I deliberately kept some of the usual blue colour cast in this shot you get from big stoppers as I personally preferred the shot with a cooler colour balance. Also enabled me to think up the name! It was a very still day so very little cloud movement.
The Acropolis from the top of our hotel. A beautiful sunset and view to end our holiday.

I've been listening a lot to country folk lately, and this photo is inspired by it! The way the sun falls, and that truck, and everything else...

"Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going."
I'm tempted by the rain
I'm walking alone on the street
But nothing gives away what I feel
But nothing shows a way to what I seek ...
It's a Daylight moon
Shining around me
Is it a deja vu
Where I've been coming back
It's a Daylight moon
Shining around me
Is it a deja vu
Where I've been coming back
I wonder in the dark
Only the lights are in the drops
The moment I touch
I find them nowhere ....
I feel your senses
In the shiver of my lips
The breeze told me
You are watching my steps
It's been a while that I'm tempted by the rain
I'm walking alone in the street
But nothing gives away what I feel
But nothing shows a way to what I seek ...
So guess
The Daylight moon is you
Shining around me
Out of the blue ....
So
It's a Daylight moon
Shining around me
Is it a deja vu
Where I keep coming to you ....
