This print is part of my Inspirational Dog Series of prints. Featured is the Boxer with a quote by Winston Churchill.
Downtown Havana. Jo didn't believe me at first. “Look, a blue dog", I had said. Had she misheard me? Was I exaggerating or referring to something other than a living animal? Was I majorly confused or delirious in the heat? Or was there a sad canine to be seen? No, it was a blue dog. Obviously the blue all over the pavement is part of the story – but the sequence of events that ended with a blue dog and a blue pavement are a mystery. If this dog could talk, it would have had a great story. Maybe we should have a story competition?

This is the studio of the guy that does the "blue dog" paintings (George Rodrigue). The paintings inside are funny. Here's the blue dog in a room. Here's the blue dog floating in front of a tree. Here's the blue dog in the grass. Here's the blue dog in a different room. I like them, though.

Taken by my pal Marsha in happier days. Blue dog was a very good pup, learning his basic commands quickly. As he got older, he picked up a knack for knocking over the trash.
