After visiting this pedestal about 5 times over the last two months, the evening before our blizzard hit yielded the calmest winds we've had for a while - giving way to some amazing reflections. About two hours after this shot, my girlfriend and I had just finished grabbing a bite to eat when the storm hit and the lake became peaceful no longer. It's too bad we didn't stay for a bit longer, the CNA sign lit up about 15 minutes after we made our way back into the city.

On a technical note: I had rented a Sony A7R for the week and wanted to put it through its paces. One scene that has an enormous amount of information is the Chicago's skyline which I had previously captured using Canon's 5D3 and the Otus 55mm. After throwing the monstrous 55mm on the little Sony, I must admit for stills and low ISO settings, the sensor is pretty amazing. By all means pixel-peep this one, the details are impressive.
