I spent some time this morning watching two osprey fish. Even though the water was very high from the recent rains the osprey were fairly successful. Only once did one fly past me with a fish ... and I just barely got him in the frame.
(The fish may be a blueback herring.)

Well, this morning Kuala Lumpur was not especially bright-skyed but I suppose that made it easier for Sony to capture the light colors of this Dragonfly, Aethriamanta gracilis. It's name is thought to signify: Lover of the Bright Sky, and it certainly is graceful. Pond Adjutant was surveying the Lotus Pond in the Taman Tasik Perdana, not far from the Central Railway Station.
In February 1994 the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) towed the USS Blueback to Portland, Oregon, where she now rests as an interactive part of the museum and a memorial.

Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica) have long forked tails and fairly short legs. They are often seen flitting here and there over water, searching for insects. They are fairly common in North America, but don't sit still for portraits, at least not for me : )
Seen at Lake St. Clair Metropark marsh, Southeast Michigan.

Posted on the shore: "This water is home to Arctic Charr, also known as blueback trout or Sunapee trout. Maine's native Arctic Charr are the last in the contiguous United States. ..."
This image was taken while the remnants of Hurricane Elsa were passing through Maine, hence the stormy looking weather.
(FlickrFriday: sorry Admins, I lost track of the day. I will pull the tags. I am not submitting this one.)
Paul: Hey, why don't we show him our motor?
John: Should we really…show him our motor?
Paul: He may not have seen one before.
Jeremy: (Fiddling with the motor) Turbo-prop, super-combustible spring. Metrocyclonic and stereophonic. This motor, I see, has a broken down…thing!
(He hits it and it works again.)
