Haumoana Beach, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
Up early to catch the sunrise on Saturday, but the weather wasn't playing kind, so settled in to shoot a few long exposures of the waves against the breakwater at Haumoana.
Managed to surprise a sleeping seal when I arrived, and then a while later a pod of dolphins cruised along the shore chasing some breakfast. So all in all not a bad morning to be up early.

RSAF General Dynamics F-16D Block 52, Luke AFB. An unplanned stop by Luke yesterday yielded very few usable shots but I'll post a couple that were at least half decent. Sun was shining almost straight down the runway so not ideal.
Self unloader Joseph L. block owned by Cleveland Cliffs is well into unloading ore at Cleveland's Bulk Terminal on November 2, 2024. It was built in 1975 and has kept that name for it's whole career. It's somewhat rare for a laker to dock at CBT headed west. They more often back in. The newest addition to Cleveland's skyline is the Sherwin Williams headquarters just to the left of the Terminal Tower. Cleveland's House of Pain now known as Huntington Bank Field sits on the far left. This could become a historic photo if the Brown's owners make good on their plan to move off of the lakefront into the suburbs.

Red Rock Canyon, Nevada
Red Rock Canyon is a short drive outside of Las Vegas. Part of this used to be a quarry, but it was not profitable and left behind some hefty cut blocks. The third one looks to me like it’s a face.
UP YPR60B backs its train over Wrightwood in Belmont-Cragin approaching the bakery where it will spot cars.
This is the first block I received in a round robin. I hope Jane likes what I did and yes I did the tatting.

More log cabin play--I went with primaries this time, and a mix of prints and solids. I'm thinking this is going to morph into a small blanket or play mat for a friend's new baby.

Well, it feels like an eternity since I've uploaded anything to Flickr which I hope to remedy over the coming weeks.
Over the past few weeks I have been working on so many different shots, but getting nowhere with them and feeling somewhat frustrated with my processing abilities. But, my frustration has given me the kick up the rear I needed to really learn my processing tools and the learning curve has been great.... so I thought the title 'Stumbling Blocks' fit quite well for this triptych.
The shot itself is one that was previously on my stream, but was deleted last year when I had a bit on an overhaul. It was taken in Northumberland and it's was something to process to wet my appetite as I'm returning there on Monday for 4 nights and cannot wait, it's one of my favourite places in this country for sure.
