A hatless man is covered in snow during a winter storm in the Chinatown district of Washington Dc on January 23, 2016.
I was a naughty girl and went traipsing around the park, even though it was closed. I had the virgin snow covered park all to myself - it was rather peaceful, although a few times I lost my balance walking through that deep snow and fell on my butt! Maybe not the most exciting shot I've ever taken, but... I have my reasons for this one.
Snow started late Friday afternoon and dropped about 7 inches before turning to rain. Once offshore low developed, the NE winds howled and the flood tide rolled in turning the wetlands into a bay in appearance.
This was shot at *sunrise.* And the snow is set to keep it up into the evening....or later. Winds gusting to 50 mph. Nice day for some Al Fresco dining ?
P.S. Just received this note from our Weather Quality group:
