The main lake at the Britzer Garten which is one of Berlin's biggest and most beautiful public parks. On that photowalk, in June '21, I had brought along the Ricoh GRIII (with which this photo was taken), and the Olympus equipped with the 7-14mm zoom lens (you can find a photo taken with that combo in the first comment). Back then, I couldn't decide which photo I should upload first, and the Oly image "won". So now it's the GRIII's turn. For this image, I had used a filter from the NiSi Master Kit for the GRIII (the polarizer, if I remember correctly), a set of filters that consists of a camera adapter, a filter holder, and, of course, several filters. This is a single image that I've duly (over-)processed for Sliders Sunday by using this and that in Color Efex, Viveza, and ON1 Photo RAW, plus a few LR tweaks and slidings. Dear Flickr friends, I can't say how much time I will have for Flickr in the next weeks. We're having massive water damage in our apartment which means that right now (and for the next weeks) everything here is a huge mess. I will certainly stop by on Flickr every day to check your photos, and I also hope that, once we're settled some more again, or time permits otherwise, I can also continue to take part in MMs, and also continue to upload once or twice a week... Well, let's see how it will be.

Der Hauptsee im Britzer Garten, einem der gƶĆten und schƶnsten Parks in Berlin. Bei diesem Fotowalk im letzten Juni hatte ich sowohl die Ricoh GRIII (mit der ich dieses Foto gemacht habe) als auch die Olympus mit dem 7-14mm-Weitwinkel-Zoom dabei (ein Foto mit dieser Kombo findet Ihr im ersten Kommentar). WƤhrend ich mit der Oly am Hauptsee Belichtungsreihen gemacht hatte, ist das Ricoh-Foto ein Einzelbild, fĆ¼r das ich, wenn ich mich recht entsinne, den Polfilter aus dem NiSi-Filter-Set fĆ¼r die GRIII verwendet habe. Da es (Slider) Sonntag ist, habe ich bei der Bearbeitung ein wenig Ć¼bertrieben und mich in Color Efex, Viveza und ON1 ausgetobt (mit kleinen Tweaks auch noch in Lightroom) ā ganz wie es sich fĆ¼r den Slider Sunday gehƶrt :)
Ich weiĆ leider nicht, wie viel Zeit ich in den nƤchsten Wochen fĆ¼r Flickr haben werde. Wir haben einen riesigen Wasserschaden in der Wohnung und momentan ist alles ein Riesenchaos. Ich werde bestimmt jeden Tag mal kurz bei Flickr vorbeischauen und hoffe auch, dass ich weiter z. B. an Macro Mondays teilnehmen oder zumindes ein Foto in der Woche hochladen kann. Na mal sehen, wie das alles so wird...

Not far from the repurposed wooden church in Low Head, Tasmania, we find someone's modern definition of domestic bliss. The colour scheme and the word 'Enamor' all point to Spanish origins. Think what you will of this house, but for the owner 'enamor' means to be "in love." And that's all we can ask for really to have domestic bliss.
When you're in nature, the leaves rustle gently in the wind and you hear birds sing all around. Surely that is bliss.

Being able to capture this beauty was such a thrill! I'd just taken an image of a large elephant when I turned and saw this little beauty. Shooting one of the largest to the smallest, was very exciting moment!
If anyone knows what this beauty is called, please let me know!
The feeling is unique, its a sense of calm peacefulness that washes over ones distresses, doubts and worries. And the most wonderful thing about it is that it kinda sneaks up on you :) . This is what i strive for when I'm out in the forest looking for a shoot. It's not my eyes that tells me I've got a nice composition, it's the feeling of bliss, of finding the hidden balance.
I wanted to make a piece with tight vegetation, and a nice visual line to tighten up the composition. I aimed in the post processing to create a dreamy smooth calm feel to it, to push it into the area of dreamscapes.
Shot was taken pretty close to where i live in Tiller Norway.

Last Saturday we took a ride to the Kennebec River where we spotted at least 17 adult and juvenile bald eagles. It was a very windy day so most were flying high above and like this young pair, playing and dancing, turning and diving, then stopping on a tall pine for rest.
Then we drove to Dresden where we saw another family of 5, two adults and 3 juveniles.
When at rest most were hidden in trees. I just didn't have a good opportunity for a decent shot. Yet I had the time of my life!

Chickadees have always been a favorite bird of mine. I love their happy singsong trills, and when I see them in the harshest of times (like say, 30 degrees below zero fahrenheit, where you or I wouldn't last the morning), I marvel at their resilience and how happy they seem to be given their circumstances. I still believe they are. But, I was reading a study on their songs, and as it turns out the more intricate they get, the greater the predatorial threat they are warning others of. When you hear "Chicka-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee," a much greater threat is present than if you just heard the ever famous, "Fee-bee." Now, you or I might think a more complex call would mean a bigger predator with a huge beak and scary claws was close by. But, Chickadees know better. A smaller more agile predator would have a much greater chance at pinning a lightning fast Chickadee. For instance, A large Great Gray Owl elicited only two "dees," but a much smaller (but also more aerially adept) Pygmy Owl merited an extra four to twenty-some "dees." I also read that they have words for types of predatorial threats e.g. when you hear them wisp out a "Seet" it warns of flying threats from above. I will always associate their songs with happiness though, to me it is unmistakably so, and for that Bliss is far from Ignorance.
There are times in the hills when everything seems perfect and pristine and when lost in the moment you can feel quite emotional, an advantage of walking alone I suppose. Atop Causey Pike on this day was one of those moments, stood in perfect stillness and silence it was hard not to be moved. Just why does a landscape have such an effect on your emotions? As an atheist I don't even have the old "feeling closer to god" line to fall back upon but there is certainly something spiritual and intrinsically ingrained in the human psyche that causes feelings of bliss and elation when presented with such a scene. Certainly words and images are a clumsy way to put this across but what else do I have?

I found myself at Stinson Beach just North of San Francisco this Spring and I really wanted to try my hand at some airy beach images. I've always been drawn to the color and mystic white light. I tracked this surfer across the expansive beach heading for the waves. One day I've got to get out there and feel the magic.
