Mucking about with modifiers in Blender 2.56a. The wall has a boolean modifier to create the hole as the first Suzanne goes through. This is actually as a transparent cylinder passes through with the middle vertices of the capped ends grabbed and dragged to produce a pointed end. The object is the cylinder and the action is diffrence.
The second Suzanne is flattened with a lattice modifier with the lattice on the wall surface.I just realised that I forgot to set the graph editor to linear so the second Suzanne slows down a bit just before hitting the wall but this was just a test of modifiers so I'm not too bothered about it.
The Boolean Modifier is based on the tutorial at Blendernerd and the Lattice Modifier is based on the tutorial at BlenderCookie

Working on some gross edits to the bump and image map of the Ty Rex model. The body scales were created using Photoshop's stained glass filter, but while this actually looks pretty good for the majority of the body there are key areas where it looks awful; the eyes; the mouth; the nose; the underbelly; the arms. So i've gone in and erased those portions and now I'll start to come back in and paint the bump texture that is more appropriate using the African Nile Crocodile as my reference.
I've tweaked the colors of the image map as well, but that is far more preliminary.

tweaked the textures a little, tones down the bump mapping on the body...added an extra specular light...maybe not the most realistic...but i like it!!!!
