Bladder Sedge (Carex vesicaria) - 2 views of fruits, which are similar to Bottle Sedge but taper more gradually to the beak. Scattered distribution in UK, and scarce in my home county. I have misidentified this twice now, so thank you to the County Recorder for putting me right. In Oxleys LNR, Hatfield.

The bladder, is a smooth muscular sac that expands as it fills with urine, can hold up to 1 L. When the bladder fills up, nerves in the muscular wall are stimulated and cause the erge to urinate.
