Blackwork piece from a free issue of Just Cross-stitch posted on-line a few weeks back. Fun piece and it's stitching up quite quickly. Still need to do some half squares and edging around the border.
Digital camera This is another of my older Blackwork pictures. It is glazed so that is why there is a slight refelection in the picture. Grace
A sample, with no purpose as yet. The pattern comes from a sample by Sylvie Tonnelier, published in 'Mains et Merveilles - Broderie Créative - Le Blackwork aujourd'hui' #1 (2005). It's worked with cotton single thread on Aïda canvas.
This was a delight to stitch due in part to the bright colours.
It was my first foray into Blackwork stitchery and really love the effect.
Pattern was from designer Lesley Teare.
Stitched on 28 count DMC Linen Natural with DMC threads and Mill Hill beads.
Finished as a flat fold by my husband.
Was gifted as a birthday present to my neighbour who turned 90 today.
The back of the shirt has sort of repeating designs in the middle, which was not quite what I wanted, but when I realized it, I couldn't be bothered to fix it. I don't think it is too noticable though.
