Similar to a previous photo but with a wider angle, this photo shows the Phelps & Jackson Blacksmith Shop at the SW corner of Streetsboro (303) and Broadview (176) Roads. The building also housed the West Richfield Post Office. Lydia Chapman, wife of potmaster Rolon H. Chapman, stands in the doorway. The photo was taken circa 1902, most likely from the second floor of the Delancy Sykes Store (now the Dougout) across the street.

Somewhere in a calm and hidden valley there is a small blacksmith shop. It is more a wheelwright workshop than a classic blacksmith. The owner is an ex-soldier who fed up with killing and war and decided to start a new life. His old comrade joined him to protect the workshop. Their workshop serves everyone regardless of sides but only with wheels, horshoes and other peaceful tools. The blacksmith refuses to craft weapons anymore.

Built in a day because was a bit snowed in, and my blacksmith from the advent calendar needed someplace to live.

I couldn't resist this other view in the Blacksmith Shop with the wagon wheels etc. Daniel Boone Homestead, Birdsboro, Pa. 3x hdr
So I just built this shop out of my bulk, and while its still missing a few pieces, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Makes me wonder what else I have just laying around in my bulk, lol.

The barn at the 1756 Troxell-Steckel house contains many old farm related tools and pieces of equipment. Among them were this air bellows used to stoke the blacksmith's fire in the making of horseshoes and farm tools. The Pennsylvania German farmhouse and barn are located in Egypt, Pennsylvania. The property is administered by the Lehigh County Historical Society.
