Edit 2: For those who wonder, I didn't use a snoot or a softbox not even a Flash! I used and Iphone with a flashlight app just above Floyd. For a soften light, moved the phone a little during exposure

There were some terrific cloud formations yesterday when I was playing golf at Flamborough Head, East Yorkshire. Fortunately it did not rain.

The Common Yellowthroat (Geothlypis trichas) is common, indeed. With a range that extends across almost all of North America (sorry, arid southwest), almost nearly any North American can head outside in the summer, find a marshy area, and listen for the yellowthroat's rolling call. That vocalization is even appropriate for the coming Halloween, sounding very much like, "witchety-witchety-witchety!" So common is the common yellowthroat that it was actually the first bird described in the new world back...cataloged by Linnaeus himself in the 1700s!
Still, these tiny birds enjoy thick vegetation, so keep a keen and persistent eye out for these handsome warblers and you'll spot one.

I love the wonderful layered patterns of the cliff, highlighted by the sunset sky at Nash point. Blackout by British Sea Power is a great track, and fine for this blacked out image.
