The magic of flight!
When I had the chance to visit fourth biennial Singapore Airshow, I jumped at it. During the aerial displays, the ROKAF Black Eagles roar into the air space.

Black Eagles frequent the rock massifs of the Southern Cape in South Africa where they predate largely on Dassies (Hyrax).
The undoubted stars of RIAT 2012 were the Korean Air Force Black Eagles display team. Their slick, pacy routine deservedly won them two prizes at this year's show, and the behaviour of all of the team's members won them many more friends.

The Black Eagle (Ictinaetus malayensis) is a bird of prey. Like all eagles, it is in the family Accipitridae, and is the only member of the genus Ictinaetus. They soar over forests in the hilly regions of tropical Asia and hunt mammals and birds, particularly at their nests. They are easily identified by their widely splayed and long primary "fingers", the characteristic silhouette, slow flight and yellow ceres and legs that contrast with their dark feathers.

The vivid red smoke of the two corkscrewing aircraft really stands out against a dull sky.
