For 365: Day 170 - 8 July 2009
I have sweet blood. I know this because if you take three people, one being me, line them up at dusk with no bugspray, and leave them there for 2 hours, the person on my right would have 4 bites, the person on my left would have 6 bites, and I'd have 46. I guess I'm just tasty. The part that confuses me is that they don't really bother me... until I come home. Same was always true for backcountry canoe trips. I'd have hundreds of bites and be fine until I got into the car to drive back and got home. Then it was itch fest mania... why?

Large purple meat ant bites into human skin. These large ants are common and very aggressive at defending their nest. The bite is not painful on tough skin, but they can overwhelm intruders through sheer numbers and they will find your tender bits. Gayndah, QLD.
