Gannet (Morus bassanus, formerly Sula bassana), Saltee Islands, Co. Wexford
I went to the Saltee Islands, off the Wexford coast, today with 24 photographers. I saw some of the biggest camera lenses i have ever seen. Some reminded me of something NASA might shoot into orbit.
There were a lot of sea bitds on the island: Puffins, Razorbills, Guillemots, fulmars, kittiwakes, gulls and many many Gannets. I have a lot of photos of those and will post a few soon. But I thought I start with this ugly chick and the adult bird watching from the back. It seems to think:
'I hope mine doesn't turn out looking like that!'
