A young Black Shouldered Kite (Elanus axillaris) outside Maurray Bridge. EM-1 with 40-150mm with MC-14 M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter to give a 210mm (420mm equiv) reach. Sun was in the worst possible position. Approx 100% crop.
One of these will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and the other on the 7th. They sure grow up fast!
As I was shooting these while standing on a ladder across the street, the breeze kept blowing the Spanish moss so that it obstructed my view. I had to time my shots during the pause between the gust. Just like a sniper shoots during the respiratory pause between breaths...
Ok, not just like a sniper, but you get the idea...
