Steppe Eagle (Aquila Nepalensis)
A large eagle with rich brown plumage, wide wings, and seven well-splayed “fingers” at the wingtip. Adults are entirely dark brown; juveniles and immatures at rest show a distinctive wide white band bordered with black on the wing. In flight, this transforms into a white traverse band on the underwing that forms the base of the primary and secondary feathers. Birds take about four years to attain adult plumage. Frequents open grasslands, deserts, scrub, wetlands, and mountains, and is a regular carcass feeder along with vultures.

Imperial Eagle (Aquilla heliaca) in flight
Very large; dark-brown body contrasts with pale head and nape. Similar to Golden Eagle but with a shorter tail and white shoulders that can be hard to spot. The underwings are dark with low contrast. Juveniles are strikingly different, sandy brown above with white streaks and a pale rump contrasting with dark tail and dark wingtips. Uncommon, breeding in forested areas intermixed with steppes and agricultural areas, where often seen perched on pylons.

Hooded Pitta
A dark-headed beauty of tropical forests. Black head is topped with a chestnut crown in some subspecies. Body is emerald green with a bright blue patch on the shoulder and a crimson belly. Quietly forages singly for invertebrates on the ground. Like almost all pittas, shy and retiring and generally very difficult to see. Song is variable, but generally undistinguished: two primary notes, typically with a barking quality, and sometimes with quieter additional notes.

Walked past this one a few times in a short space of time before i actually realized it was there. Masters of their habitat that can sit motionless for hours on end.
Tawny frogmouth. Podargus strigoides
One of the best examples of cryptic plumage and mimicry in Australian birds is seen in the tawny frogmouth which perch low on tree branches during the day camouflaged as part of the tree. Their silvery-grey plumage patterned with white, black, and brown streaks and mottles allows them to freeze into the form of a broken tree branch and become practically invisible in broad daylight. The tawny frogmouth often chooses a broken part of a tree branch and perches upon it with its head thrust upwards at an acute angle using its very large, broad beak to emphasise the resemblance.
Tawny frogmouths form partnerships for life, and once established, pairs usually stay in the same territory for a decade or more. Establishing and maintaining physical contact is an integral part of their lifelong bond. During breeding season, pairs roost closely together on the same branch, often with their bodies touching. The male carries out grooming by gently stroking through the plumage of the female with his beak in sessions that can last for 10 minutes or more.
