A beautiful bird found on the edge of woods, This may be a juvenile as it appeared a little smaller and has white on wing edges.

Often forages actively, walking or running in shallow water, also standing still and waiting for prey to approach.

Spotted this guy the other day sitting in the tree looking out over the lake. So majestic.

This is a verdin perched on an ocotillo. Verdins are a small desert-dwelling bird, somewhat common in the desert southwest of the U.S. They are monogamous but don't necessarily hang out with their mate year-round. Respectful of each other's space, I guess.

Oh boy!! My hubby bought me a new lens for Christmas... I have even more to learn now! But this was one of the first shots with the new lens. Still not perfect but holy smokes...I actually got a fairly decent shot of a bird!!! I'm very excited! Not bad for not knowing what the heck I'm doing yet.

Green-tailed Sunbird or Aethopyga nipalensis in Sikkim Himalaya India.

I found this nest close to my area, and I was so excited to take a photo but I just want to make clear that I really respected all nests.

Always remember to keep your distance from any occupied nests you find. You don't want to stress out the parents or attract any predators like squirrels or other birds to the nest :)
