The Bionic Gear Bag is the pattern that I use to test my vintage machines. If they can make it through the bulk and bumps, they become a member of my sewing family. This bag was created with the help of Cinnamon, my 1956 Singer 401a. She is a beautiful machine that has no trouble with zipper installation or stitching through multiple layers of heavy weight interfacing and fabric.
The name Bionic Ear Lane commemorates the pioneering research and work of Australian medical scientist Professor Graeme Clark. He developed the multi-channel cochlear implant, the first hearing device to give real speech understanding to people who are profoundly deaf. The lane is behind Burlington Terrace where the Bionic Ear Institute can be found.

Detail of my Gold Tone tenor resonator. Weighs a ton, sounds like a bionic banjo on steroids. Fun to play!
The great diving beetle, Dytiscus marginalis, second pair of legs, also with small suction cups, detail
Here’s my Cotswold Elite Mike head I got from @pandollop that I decided to de-flock cuz the hair wasn’t doing it for me at all. I reaaaaaaaaaally wanted to put him on a matching body but I got tired of my lack of options so…. I decided to spray paint a frankensteined body silver and slapped on Hip Hoodie’s neck so that this Mike can have a body.
I was gonna just use his default hands that were painted silver but I really love the effect of the clear Obitsu hands and that meant less work so yeah.
Since I didn’t do anything special to his body he’s my first cyborg doll to fully wear clothes lol.
