Pebble Beach, Calif. - Feb. 6 was Military Appreciation Day at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Active-duty military were allowed free entry to the tournament and a number of service members were given special access to the course during the popular 3M Celebrity Challenge charity event. Celebrities participating this year were Bill Murray, Ray Romano, Josh Duhamel, Chris Berman, Kenny G, Darius Rucker, Clay Walker, Jake Owen, Huey Lewis, Andy Garcia, Carson Daly and Charles Kelley.

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- The weekend at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am brought together top golfers and celebrities on the golf course. But off the course Monterey's military community enjoyed watching the tournament from the Patriots Outpost military appreciation tent or as volunteers working in concessions tents in coordination with the Veterans Transition Center of Monterey. Jordan Spieth won the tournament with a final score of 19 under par, while television host Carson Daly won the amateur competition with partner Ken Duke.

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- Continuing a long standing tradition, service members from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center came out in perfect Monterey weather on Feb. 10 to the Pebble Beach golf course for the 3M Celebrity Challenge charity event. Service members got a chance to see and mingle with celebrities such as Bill Murray, Ray Romano and Clint Eastwood as they played five holes of Pebble Beach known affectionately as the "whiskey run" to help raise $100,000 for charities in this event immediately preceding the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament.

This is my first big LEGO build, The Life Aquatic Movie with Bill Murray and Directed By Wes Anderson. It includes the Belafonte Ship complete with sauna, albino research dolphins, full cast in mini figs and many other aspects of the great Life Aquatic re created in Lego. Since I'm a "Lost in Translation" movie fan, during my stay in Tokyo I wanted to stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo Hotel to see that fabulous and world known hotel on the top of the Park Tower in Shinjuku. Between room amenities I found the almost same room clothes Bill Murray wore in the movie poster, so I wanted to emulate him in this BAD imitation (his room was different, mine is a long wintry Yukata, and I'm happier than him to be there!) PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- Soldiers from Presidio's 229th Military Intelligence Battalion came out to represent the Army and witness the 3-M Celebrity Challenge charity event at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Feb. 8. The event was part of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and held one day prior to the start of the PGA tournament. The celebrity challenge is played over five holes with twelve celebrities paired in teams and playing alternate-shot format for a total purse of $100,000 to celebrities' designated charities. Participating celebrities were Bill Murray, Huey Lewis, Larry the Cable Guy, Toby Keith, Kenny G, Clay Walker, Alfonso Ribeiro, Gary Mule Deer, Andy Garcia, Kelly Rohrbach, Kunal Nayyar, and Josh Duhamel.

Even though we don't celebrate Groundhog Day in England it doesn't stop the film being brilliant.
Aaron Cohen of Unlikely Words is one of the most American of all my internet friends, and he put together a plan where a few of us would draw something based on Groundhog Day.
Here's my piece, the other people who did drawings were Chris Piascik, Josh LaFayette and Vaughn Fender.
Aaron can't draw.
We're hopefully going to do things like this a little more often, and next time I'm making sure mine is the first one uploaded.
PS: I hate the Sonny and Cher faces, but I got bored of trying to draw them better.

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- Hundreds of service members from Monterey county and beyond converged at the Pebble Beach Golf Links Feb. 11 to watch celebrities golf in a charity fundraising event as part of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Free tickets were made available to service members all week long at the AT&T PB courtesy of Birdies for the Brave, a PGA Tour-supported military outreach charity founded in 2006 by Phil and Amy Mickelson.
Notable stars such as Chris Berman, Josh Duhamel, Kenny G, Andy Garcia, Charles Kelley, Huey Lewis, Bill Murray, Jake Owen, Joe Don Rooney, Ray Romano, Clay Walker, and Clint Eastwood golfed five holes at the world famous Pebble Beach golf course to raise money for charities during the 3M Celebrity Challenge. Berman and Kenny G used military members as honorary caddies during the event.
