Okay! It's time for a bike tour on the Oregon Coast! Currently Emee and I are on a bus heading to Tillamook. We'll be at Cape Lookout tonight, then Kirk and Erinne's wedding on the Trask River for the weekend. Then we head south on the coast for a bit. Fun! #biketour #biketouring #shawnandemeeorcoasttouraug2018

Images from "Camp and Trek", a book written by Jack Cox and published by Lutterworth Press, London UK, 1956. Illustrators unknown, alas. This book was intended as a guide for British youngsters to explore the countryside. Obviously there is a strong bicycling component to it. And the back featured ads from various British cycling/outdoor equipment manufacturers.

Adventure this week! Tomorrow, myself, Ed, and of course moosemoose will take off for a four day ramble around Mt. Hood! It's been a good four years since I've been up that way, despite Wy'east being in my backyard. Should be fun! And the weather looks promising. #moosemoose #mthood #wyeast #bikecamping #biketouring

A 30 mile day from Cape Lookout to Neskowin, then a bus ride into Lincoln City.

In January of 2016 I traveled to Peru to reunite with a few friends and circumnavigate Mt. Huascarán ‎6,768m (22,205 ft) by bicycle. The 20 day bikepacking trip started in the hot desert near Samanco and peaked at the Tunnel Punta Olimpica where we crossed at 16,000ft by bicycle. The tour brought us up close to some of the highest mountains in the country where we passed beneath glaciated peaks and alpine lakes. Sponsors: Julbo Eyewear, Perubybike

Sunday: We took Pete's Mountain Rd from Canby Ferry to West Linn. It's a beautiful road with great views, but it is one beast of a climb, 8-10% grades plus a fake out double summit. It broke the three of us. We rode the rest of the way on the west side of the Willamette, which felt A LOT hillier than I remembered!😰🚲🗻 #ualchampoegsept2018 #bikeovernight #s24o #biketouring #bikecamping #petesmountainroad
