I barely got out alive.

The thunder rolls

And the lightning strikes

Another love grows cold

On a sleepless night

As the storm blows on

Out of control

Deep in her heart

The thunder rolls

Okay. After you. I would not try to win my weight class against his anyway.

I was out shooting photos for a client. It had been raining a lot. I walked in the back lot and saw all these puddles in the rocks and got excited - there had to be a good reflection shot somewhere. I took a bunch but none were as exciting as this one. I really liked the color version and wondered if it would work in black and white. It really does! Gives a completely different feeling, I really like it!

It is VERY rare to get on any mining company property. After checking in with the guard shack, we had to watch a safety film and be certified. After passing the certification, we received passes to be on the property safely.

Happy Truck Thursday

I was out shooting photos for a client. It had been raining a lot. I walked in the back lot and saw all these puddles in the rocks and got excited - there had to be a good reflection shot somewhere. I took a bunch but none were as exciting as this one, that bright yellow truck just jumps out looking so cool!

I drove past this the other day and could not pass this one up. Now it is very rare that I am without my camera and i really don't do cell phone pics (just not my thing)

So I went home (about 2Km) got my camera and took some shots.

Perhaps not a great truck shot, but it connected with me.

Sorry its a post & run this morning as its way past midnight here & I'm going to transform myself into a sleeping log now. Should see you shortly soon! ciao!

Grave digger coming down after hitting a jump during the 2013 Monster Jam in Miami

I came into work one day to discover this in front of it. You can see the normal sized car next to it to get an approximation of its size. To give you a better idea, chris is 6'5 and he couldn't see into the trunk. I wish I could have got a better photo but there really weren't any good angles. I got a total of 3 photos before the guy inside noticed what I was doing. He honked at me, quite rudely, because he understood what was going on. I gave him the finger and went inside only to find out by one of my coworkers that he had just been in there for lunch, and was, he said, a professional body builder. Apparently, his muscles were HUGE. I'd like to know exactly who this dude is so I could google him. I have a feeling he's overcompensating for something. He's trying extra hard to show how manly he is, so is he??? Sadly, we will never know. Either way, Chris estimated it must have cost him a liberal $50000 to make his car look like that. My coworker guessed 100 grand. Who knows?? Also, as he was leaving, he almost backed into Chris' car, which was directly behind him. In addition to being hilarious, that would have been a brand new car for the boyfriend.

Went on a trip through Utah. Spent a lot of time in Bryce and Red canyon. It was fun but very cold.

Even on a trip to photograph nature and landscapes, the street photographer cant help but photograph a bunch of Big Rigs lined up in the parking lot of a diesel mechanic's garage, as I pumped gas, in Panguitch, Utah

On a trip I made from from Phoenix AZ to SLC, UT. on US-89 close to the Arizona - Utah State line is this Dam, on the AZ. side at Lake Powell. This trip is 663 miles long.

Wiki

Glen Canyon Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Colorado River in northern Arizona, United States, near the town of Page. The 710-foot (220 m) high dam was built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) from 1956 to 1966 and forms Lake Powell, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the U.S. with a capacity of 27 million acre feet (33 km3).[2] The dam is named for Glen Canyon, a series of deep sandstone gorges now flooded by the reservoir; Lake Powell is named for John Wesley Powell, who in 1869 led the first expedition to traverse the Colorado's Grand Canyon by boat.

The dam is also a major source of hydroelectricity, averaging over 4 billion kilowatt hours per year.[5] The long and winding Lake Powell, known for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities including houseboating, fishing and water-skiing, attracts millions of tourists each year to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.[9]

Betty Buicks first stop on the drive from Lethbridge, Alberta to Kimberly, British Columbia was the mining town of Sparwood BC.

Sparwood is the most easterly town in B.C. at one of the highest elevations in Canada.

The Sparwood visitor information centre is the proud custodian of TITAN the TEREX 33-19 coal mining behemoth. Only one 33-19 was ever produced.

The 1974 Terex Titan was the world’s largest truck for 25 years, a huge machine built to haul raw material around open-pit mines.

A single prototype was built just as the coal market dropped in 1973, and with high fuel costs the intended market of open-pit mine operators never materialized, leaving the behemoth a unique example.

General Motors of Canada, which owned Terex, built and sold it to Kaiser Steel, who used it in California for a couple years before moving it to Sparwood in 1978.

The vehicle had to be disassembled and loaded onto a train to take it north. It worked until 1991, when it was retired and gifted to the town of Sparwood as a tourist attraction.

The stats for the Titan were all world records at the time of production. It was the tallest and had the highest carrying capacity of any truck at 22 ft.

Fully loaded it weighs over 1 million pounds. The diesel engine is 10,343-cu.in., with 16-cylinder,300 horsepower engine. its tires are 12 ft. tall.

I want this truck. Traffic is getting bad in central Texas. Look at at that bumper. I could plow them out of my way. :-)

It drove by and then parked there. I had to capture it. Thanks for viewing.

Keep on Truckin'

Brings to mind an old and slightly off color joke about old truckers...

The big gear just keeps thundering down this highway, day and night and any times that may exist in between.
