A male lion rests in the shade during a hot morning on a outcropping on the Serengeti plains. He does appear to be seated on a throne. Every few minutes he would open his eyes, without moving his head, to see what was going on. #BigCats #Bringit
The leopard is a solitary animal of the bush and forest and is mainly nocturnal in habit, although it sometimes basks in the sun. It is an agile climber and frequently stores the remains of its kills in the branches of a tree. It feeds upon any animals it can overpower, from small rodents to waterbuck, but generally preys on the smaller and medium-sized antelopes and deer. Leopards are very stealthy and like to stalk close and run a relatively short distance after their prey. They kill through suffocation by grabbing their prey by the throat and biting down with their powerful jaws. They rarely fight other predators for their food.
The beautiful Double Cross female Leopard (Panthera padres) had an uneventful morning walk. She was elusive as usual but we did manage to catch a glimpse of her criss crossing the ravines and eventually she went to sit deep in a ravine away from the heat of the day.

Personaly think the quide did not 'read' the animal that well
Some days ago I uploaded an image of an old buffalo. This shot is taken only a tiny moment before. The small bird flew away as the buffalo turned his head towards me.
Anyway somebody asked to see my last image in color. So here is a colored version of a similar shot. I personally prefer the black&white for those kind of images. It allows to bump up the contrast a little higher which is great for strong textures. What do you think?

Having being sleeping for most of the day under a bush, this sub-adult male together with his brother finally awoke as sunset approached.
Lion's are nocturnal as most of their hunts and activities are carried out at night under the cover of darkness.

King Olerai finally got up after. the sun had set and walked down the black rocks on which he had been sleeping all afternoon with his brother Osahabu.

Young male lion watching his brother a bit sceptical. This pride of lion specialised in Elephants, which are quite abundent in the area.
In total the pride is as big as 12 lions, we saw 8 of them strolling around the elephants corpse or this one, who was especially afraif of water. ;)

Yesterday I have already told you about the size of the huge buffalo herd we have seen in the Savuti marshlands in Cobe National Park. To me it felt like this guy here was the king over the area. Look at the size of his horns! They were massive!!! But actually the hole beast was a really big and massive piece of a muscle… This guy truly was impressive!

A lovely moment to look back on. This young calf was crossing a dirt road in the Kruger National Park. Having emerged from the bush, the difference in the texture beneath its feet caught it a little off guard, so it stepped gingerly across the road - raising its feet high before placing them very carefully on the ground.
