The scene from many a branch line in years gone by. I captured this image at the Embsay And Bolton Abbey Steam Railway when they were holding their Branch Line Weekend Gala. The photograph was taken at Bolton Abbey. You can see Hunslet WD Austerity 0-6-0ST No.35 Norman pulling into Bolton Abbey Station with a service from Embsay. While ex BR Class 37 Co-Co No.37294 [D6994] moves into the sidings before being asked to perform its next duty for the day. I took the photograph with my Panasonic G7 on the 2nd May 2016 and you may have noticed that they have made a start on the construction of Platform Two. The plan is to erect a footbridge connecting the two platforms and to add a waiting room to shelter passengers while waiting for their train.
This photograph was taken on the 16th February 2016 at the Bury Bolton Street Station on the East Lancashire Railway. I had just come down to the railway because I had the week off work and as it was half term for the schools the railway was open all week!
I think some of the diesels where having a warm up for the diesel gala later in the week when I caught No.50015 Valient and D345 trying to sneak through Bury undetected.
