As part of the Canon Collective a couple of friends and I joined an equally enthusiastic group of photographers at a park for retired or unwanted animals. In fact mostly large cats which was great to hone my skills with some nice gear that I sadly had to give back after the course. Anyway hope you like these images.
Not in a zoo or reserve, and definitely not a happy camper!

I had hoped to see a leopard on this trip close enough to grab a decent photo. I expected to see one up on a kopje or in a tree, or maybe asleep in some grass. We saw this leopard walking around and there were a lot of other vehicles parked and watching it in some high grass. Our guide said that leopards want to have a view of their surroundings and suggested we pull up next to this rock. Sure enough, the leopard came over and sat there while taking in the area. We were in just the right place.
