After a brilliant start to my raptor watch in Spain seeing and photographing all the big raptors and a bonus Otter I decided to make a move from Monfraque .I decided to try my luck on a new set of mountains further south the Sierra Morena a fast area to search I allowed myself 4 days and nights starting well to the east of the mountains to try and see or hear the critically endangered Iberian Lynx. After 3 days no signs of any cats but had some very good close views of a pair of Spanish Imperial Eagles and the enormous cinereous vulture(black)one of the words largest flying birds with a wingspan of 3 meters or 9ft. Then on my last morning setting up my camera and tripod i could hear the call of a cat so I grabbed my camera and field glasses and then at to do the 4 minute mile around two double bends not easy for a old age pensioner of 65, stopping were I first heard the cat I looked over the valley and spotting these blue magpies there right next to them laying chilled out on a rock my first ever sighting of a wild lynx all my patients had finally paid off it stayed on the rock for 30 minutes before wondering of into the undergrowth.

Amani, Usingi, and one of the Diva twins decided to warm themselves up during a short rain shower by having a quick jog around their hill.

Wild Animal Park in Bandon Oregon had a lot of beautiful big cats like this one. I had to shoot this one through a tightly meshed fence.

A leaping snow leopard chasing mum

taken quite a few years ago when the keepers went in with the big cats

Too dull and wet to go shooting pictures outside today. Even the kittens wouldn't go out. Alfie came and watched as I was viewing some of my old pictures and I couldn't resist taking this one. No time for proper lighting set up; just the pop up flash. Made me smile though!

I always thought this one looked like she was cheering for someone.

Despite the rain and cold weather she still came outside and just sat relaxed and thinking!!!

Zoe looking much more like a big leopard. She's taking a break from playing.

Proof that even lions can look funny sleeping.

I wouldn't think a sawed-off tree branch would be that nice of a pillow, but the tiger seemed quite comfy there!
