We were in a jeep in India's 400 sq km Ranthambore National Tiger Park when the guide heard a warning cry from a Sambar Deer and rushed the jeep to the source of the sound. A large male leopard emerged from the forest to drink at the stream and then briefly prowled around. A leopard sighting is relatively rare - an exciting moment.

i really like this shot in large...i think the density of her fur shows and there is something really pretty about her eyes...they are lighter in color than i imagined for a lion...she seems to wear an air of grace and knowledge.

Amboseli National Park Kenya, October 2021 Although Amboseli National Park is most famous for their elephant families, we were thrilled to see these lions, especially after we were told the chances of seeing them were pretty slim. The male was calling to the adult females, one who responded by walking right over to him. We saw several lions in the tall grass on one side of the road, as well as these lions on the opposite side of the road. The Lion Guardians is the conservation organization that helps to protect and monitor the lions in the park, as well as work with the communities who experience wildlife-human conflict. lionguardians.org

We were not sure about the reaction here, but the consensus is we think the lion thought he saw a crocodile as he crossed the river.
