These adorable cheeky looking little finches just popped their heads out far enough for me to get this shot... Taken at Bird Kingdom, Niagara Falls last month.
Mum and I had an amazing time in Canada, and I'm sure it won't be our last time over there :) :) But, if you're anywhere near Niagara Falls, I'd recommend a visit to Bird Kingdom too... it's just on the opposite side of the road :)
Learning to have patience is hard work, but God's Word says it is vital to our spiritual growth and contentment :)

This one was taken back in June and as is the usual weather in Northern Ireland, you can see the rain drops still hanging unto this beautiful sweet pea. It stuck it's head through the fence from my neighbour's garden and that was invitation enough to get the camera out!! :)
Trusting you will all have a blessed and peaceful Sunday and that your weather is good. Anyone that wants rain, we have more than enough to share round the world!!! My heart goes out to those who have been affected by flooding and by drought this season :(

This is for Sunday's theme at threesixtyfive, "Phobias". Yes, I missed it, so here I am making up for it on a Tuesday.
In this world, there is nothing more certain than death.
Now, I'm not afraid of dying - I'm pretty confident about the afterlife ;-) Rather, I am afraid of how I'll go. I hope that when it's my time, it will be quick and painless. My mother was stricken with cancer and my father had diabetes so those two things I worry about the most.
I have to admit, though - roaches are my #1 phobia. This fear of how I'm going to die isn't really much of a phobia of mine, but I thought it would make a more interesting picture since nobody in the group has done it yet. Hehehe...

Cathedral Rock is a famous landmark on the Sedona, Arizona skyline, and is one of the most-photographed sights in Arizona, USA...

I tried something artistic for today... I was down at the river at the bottom of Mum's garden yesterday, but didn't see anything interesting...
I only had my zoom lens, but thought I'd give the daisies a go... I think it worked ok.. I little bit of colour play in GIMP and of course, as always, a verse of scripture as it's Sunday...
Please don't get me wrong.. I'm not just a Sunday Christian, but I don't go forcing what I believe down anyone's throat, if you don't agree with me, that's fine, but I'll still pray for you :)
I wish you all a lovely weekend, apparently today in the UK is to be the hottest day this year so far, unfortunately for us in Northern Ireland.... they told us we're getting rain! ugh

Last August, my Mum and I took a bus trip to the Lake District, unfortunately it meant that most of my photos were taken through the window of said bus.....
But we still had an amazing time and the scenery was breathtaking. I liked this shot just because the sunlight streaked across the fields and left the hedges dark.

Back in March on a nice day off with my family, we ended up in Portrush, on Northern Ireland's lovely north coast. Even though it was a cloudy overcast day, it was a day when I wasn't at work LOL
Someone on Facebook asked me what my favourite verse in the Bible was, and Psalm 103 immediately came to mind, I love the whole passage and verse 12 gives me the hope and confidence to know that my sins have been forgiven. God is so good and so full of mercy and forgiveness when we accept that His Son Jesus died on the cross for our sins and ask Him into our heart.

I was in Parkanaur forest park one evening last year and only had my phone with me... ever the opportunist, I snapped these gorgeous rhododendron blossoms and was pretty pleased with the result.
Just a few days later and the petals were gone..... As always, nature has a way of teaching us life lessons... In a day and age when looks and beauty are counted so important (by the fashion/beauty industry - not by me!!!) it's wise to remember that these things only last for a while and that real beauty comes from deep within, it's the heart that counts!!!! and that's not just something "ugly" people say! :)
I will be off air for a while - have an important visitor from Canada coming to stay with me for a couple of days - so i'm busy making fudge, banoffee pie, chocolate cake and loads of other goodies lol

Friday a week ago, the sun was shining and the sky was blue, and a perfect opportunity to go for a well earned walk through my local forest park.
This was the path I wanted to find as there's a Japanese Acer along it, and I thought the red leaves would be ready to photograph. They weren't just red enough, but the sun that came through the branches at this point was something phenomenal...
I actually brought my tripod with me for a change and set it up, and with a slightly longer exposure and using my ND variable filter, I captured those amazing sun rays :)
Of course, the first verse of scripture that came to my mind was Psalm 119 v 105 which talks about God's word being a light unto our path. Even in a world where there's so much going on around us, we need to focus on the path we're on, and let God do the leading :)

These gorgeous red poppies only last about a day and then the petals fall off, their beauty dies and it's a whole year before they reappear.....
I guess we're all a bit like wildflowers.... we last for such a short time on this earth, but God has promised in His word, The Bible, that those who accept His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, will have an eternal home in Heaven with Him.
I asked the Lord Jesus to forgive my sins and save me when I was just 16, and over the past 23 years, he has never ever let me down... our friends, loved ones, those around us will fail us and disappoint us, but always trust God!
For a couple of days last week Mum and I stayed in a lovely little B&B just outside Cushendall, Co. Antrim, and just down the hill from it, there was a wonderful garden FULL of poppies and other wildflowers... I'll post a complete picture later this week :)

I think this is the first time I've managed to capture a Coal Tit sitting so still on a branch for me, thankfully I was camouflaged in a grey sweater against the grey wall of the garage - but this cutie was as bright as a button in the branches :)
We had a lovely snowfall last night and this morning, and now it's all gone again, and because I had to come to work, I didn't even get a chance to take a photo....

But.... I know this this day is hard for many many people today, and this photo is a tribute to those beautiful mothers who are no longer on this earth... The mothers who are no longer in pain, or suffering, or shedding tears, but made it out the other side and are now in Glory with their Saviour.
Keep looking up to the skies.... God has wiped their tears away and one day we will see those loved ones again 😊
Yesterday the weather was perfect, so I took my mum out for the day, we ended up at Oxford Island, on the shore of Lough Neagh. I had both cameras with me, the Sigma zoom on my 80D and my wide angle on the 60D. Stay tuned, I might have a few more shots from here 😀😀

Chapter 31 in the book of Proverbs in the Bible describes a woman who is selfless, and puts her family first, and would do anything for them....
Here today in the UK, we celebrate Mother's Day, and I know without a doubt, my Mum could be the one in the book! She has protected, nurtured and sheltered us from many things and has become my best friend, a woman who would do anything for me and has already done... she has become my best friend and I love her so much.... She is indeed PRICELESS.
So for you today Mum, Happy Mother's Day :)

I spent a beautiful Easter Monday at the Roe Valley Country Park in Limavady.
The sun was out and it really was a gorgeous Spring day :)
I kept my Sigma 150-500mm lens on most of the day, but it didn't stop me getting this shot of the rocks and stones in the river, and I loved how the sun glinted over the ripples :)
I love this verse of scripture, which reminds me how much protection I have in the Lord. I have no need to fear anyone or anything :)
