Biber sind höhere Säugetiere und gehören zur Ordnung der Nagetiere. Sie sind die zweitgrößten lebenden Nagetiere der Erde, nach den Capybaras.
Bis jetzt erwischte ich ihn nur Schwimmend in der halben Stunde die er mir Zeit lässt von halbwegs gutem Licht bis zu seinem verschwinden.
Wer jetzt noch sagt, Biber seien keine Künstler. :)
Der Biber ist wahrlich ein Nützling. Er bereichert den Gewässerlebensraum mit Strukturen, die es ohne ihn so nicht geben würde. So schafft er stehendes und liegendes Totholz, das zahlreichen Tieren im und über Wasser Nahrung und Lebensraum bietet.
Durch seine Grabetätigkeit entstehen Abtragungs- und Anlagerungsbereiche, Uferabbrüche dienen dem Eisvogel als Brutwand. Der Fischotter kann unbewohnte Biberbaue als Versteck und zur Jungenaufzucht nutzen. Durch den Gehölzverbiss des Bibers werden Weiden verjüngt und es entsteht ein Mosaik aus sonnigen und schattigen Lebensräumen.
Bei gewässernahen Landnutzern ist der Biber jedoch nicht immer gern gesehen, da er wertvolle Bäume fällen oder Ufer vernässen kann.
One of my favorite plumage variations on a Mallard drake, the bibbed front. He's got his curly tail, hard to tell if he's going into or coming out of eclipse.
Völlig unerwartet tauchte der Biber an diesem Fliessgewässer auf und dies um 20 vor 8 Uhr.
Er schwamm gegen den Strom und war wohl auf dem Weg in sein Heim. Ich konnte ihn über 1,1 km begleiten und während
30 min. einige Bilder schiessen.

No one would blame you for thinking that this Mourning Warbler (Geothlypis philadelphia) was attempting to hitchhike, with all the leg that it's showing. But it's really just doing what it does best, clinging to underbrush. Mournings are, after all, major skulkers, foraging at the lowest levels of shrubby forest lands, hopping along the ground and twigs to scare up insectile delights. This handsome bird is named for his black bib, which is reminiscent of the black bib worn by American pioneers during periods of mourning.
This spring was particularly good for morning warblers. And this fellow was one of three calling within a 100-foot radius of rolling thicket.

Der erste Einsatz erfolgte durch die Kleinkampfverbände von Admiral Heye in der Nacht vom 29. auf den 30. August 1944. Insgesamt 18 „Biber” U-Boote waren an diesem Angriff beteiligt, bei dem ein Landungsboot sowie ein Liberty-Transportschiff versenkt wurden. Trotz dieses Erfolgs konnte der „Biber” aufgrund technischer Probleme nicht die in ihn gesetzten Erwartungen erfüllen. Von den insgesamt 325 gebauten Einheiten sind nur wenige erhalten geblieben.
The first operation was carried out by Admiral Heye's small combat units on the night of August 29th to 30th, 1944. A total of 18 "Biber" submarines were involved in this attack, in which a landing craft and a Liberty transport ship were sunk. Despite this success, the “Beaver” was unable to meet the expectations placed on it due to technical problems. Of the 325 units built, only a few have been preserved.
