I found this nice Bianchi bicycle at my father-in-law's garden house. It hasn't been used for 10 years. The bike was actually in quite good condition - just covered with layers of dust. After 10 hours of work, the result is there. Check other photos for the before state.

la finale vinta dai Bianchi di Santo Spirito per 4-0 sugli Azzurri di Santa Croce
I caught this gorgeous 53yr old Bianchi Fausto on my way to my local bike shop this morning! I saw an older gentleman walking down Grand avenue with this stunning bike across the street, little did I know he was stopping by the shop to show the guys his pride and joy, for the last time before letting her go. So sad to hear that he's selling it; you could sense the connection he had with his bike when he was describing vivid accounts of racing on it. He lit up when he pointed out how all the parts are original.. I sincerely believe that this bike is part of him.
I HAVE TWO BIKES LIKE THIS ONE BUT BOTH ARE BUILT WITH DIFFERENT COMPONENTS.
Sitting in Toas, New Mexico in this picture waiting for me to buy it....bought on 9/28/09.
This bike will be cleaned, serviced, and rode because it was meant to be.
Look at it! I can picture it riding the Toas hills, mountains, and highways for 41 years or so...lucky bike!
Update: Received her on 10/14/09. She cleaned up great! New pics to come. Still cleaning chain and may get a new shiney one for dry lube use instead of going back with the old one.
Note: Not many of these in the States...Bianchi started importing to US in early 80's so this bike is 10 or so years early...who brought it here I wonder? She makes a great Bianchi addition to go with Dutch...my 52'/54'ish Bianchi.
I can say this...after owning two vintage Bianchi's and having a chance to tear them apart to clean them...I gotta admit they are special bikes.
A lot of people say they have built the same bike in the same color for 60 years making fun of them...but I am now concur that they knew what they were doing. Look at some of the 40's 50's 60's 70's (if you can find a pic)....and 80's. You will see a solid bike for the decades.

FSA components almost everywhere.
In this picture I was still using ciamillo brakes and time pedals but have changed by now. Now I'm using FSA brakes and speedplay pedals, gotta love those pedals with my DMT's.
