Life is a good teacher and good friend. Things are always in transition, if we could only realize it. Nothing ever sums itself up in the way that we like to dream about. The off-center, in-between state is an ideal situation, A situation in which we don't get caught and we can open up our hearts and minds beyond limit. It's a very tender, non-aggressive, open ended state of affairs.

- excerpt from Pema Chodron's book.

The classic view. With Paxton's Emperor Fountain visible over the reeds. Those Cavendish guys knew how to live, didn't they? Still do, come to think of it.

I asked this couple to pose for me - never done that before in my life; they were very kind (and, if you are reading this, thank you). It almost worked; I wish I'd asked the guy to do his coat up now and stand straighter to get a more surrealist touch. This is why I'm not a professional, ah well.

Not sure why I like this sculpture, am certainly not a fan of violence - but I really am drawn to it.

There's a certain quality to his work, a sort of unrestrained and joyful madness.

Barry Flanagan's 'Elephant' ~ part of the 'Beyond Limits' exhibition at Chatsworth ...

Sorry, don't like either it or his sculptures. Looks OK in the setting sun, and in its defence it is quite big, but the juxtaposition of the inside and the outside form has been done to death.
