This bronze sculpture of a baby by Mark Quinn is 30ft long and seemingly floats in mid air. It's painted white and balances on one hand.
It's part of a sculpture exhibition at Chatsworth House and I love it.
This was created by Giacomo Manzu and is cast in bronze.
He was a self-taught Italian sculptor who died in 1991. Exposed to contemporary art he was captivated by the classical sculpture that he read about in books. The dramatic pyramidal form of the Cardinal is defined by the drapery that envelops him, and the work reveals the artist's complex and fragile relationship with the Christian faith. At certain points renouncing his faith altogether, he nevertheless remained a close friend of Pope John XX111. Manzu created over 300 versions of the Cardinale, running from 1938 to his death in 1991.
This was part of this year's 'Beyond Limits' sculpture exhibition held annually at Chatsworth.

Really wish i'd taken in a tripod for this one to get a bit of movement in the water cascade they're stood in (mind, really wish there'd been a bit better light too - lousy weather when we visited!)
