Sarah shared a genius idea with me on Saturday. We were talking about favourite seasons and she mentioned that she doesn't have a favourite season, instead she likes aspects of all seasons. Her idea is to somehow make it so that every day has four seasons:

Mornings would be Spring, full of vitality and freshness.

Lunchtime would be Summer, blue skies and sunshine, perfect for all fresco dining.

Afternoons would be Autumn, with scattered sunlight, scarves and the beauty of trees shedding their leaves.

And then the evenings bring Winter, cold, with snow outside and a warm fire.

Sounds like heaven to me.

Oh, and it's worth saying again, but the colours at Chatsworth on Saturday were just amazing.

This is a detail shot of the sculpture House of Knowledge by the artist Jaume Plensa.

I saw this fantastic object at the No Limits exhibition at Chatsworth House in the fall of 2008 and was completely bowled over by it. (There are lots more piccies of this my photostream).

Some follow up research on the internet indicated that the artist was also involved in the Channel 4 Big Art Project and a large public work entitled Dream was to be shortly installed on the reclaimed and landscaped spoil heap from a former coal mine in Sutton Manor on the outskirts of St Helens.

This is a 5 minute drive from my house and something that I've been eagerly watching out for as I pass this site almost everyday!!

And it's being installed right now! And it is stunning!

Watch this space for piccies

News of this sculpture being on display at Chatsworth House back in the fall of 2008 was enough to get me out of my bed very early one Saturday morning to go and see the full exhibition in the gardens and grounds of this Country Estate and the trip was well worth it because I also discovered the incredible work of Jaume Plensa on the same trip.

But, without doubt, Planet stole the show and it is a regret that the only camera I owned at the time to record this was a Kyocera P&S.

Because of this and my lack of processing skills at the time I have regularly revisited these images to try and tease out a little more from them in an attempt to convey the sheer wonder and spectacle of a giant baby that appeared to be floating effortlessly above the ground.

This is my latest iteration.

I hope you like the work and thankyou for visiting
