Unter diesem Namen kennt der Dresdner ein Universitätsgebäude.

Der Beyer-Bau der Technischen Universität Dresden wurde von 1910 bis 1913 für die Abteilung Bauingenieurwesen der TH Dresden vom Architekten Martin Dülfer errichtet.
Die denkmalgeschützte Gebäudegruppe beherbergt auch heute noch die Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen, das Institut für Angewandte Photophysik der Fachrichtung Physik sowie die Professur für Astronomie der Fachrichtung Geowissenschaften.
Der heutige Beyer-Bau wurde am 11. Oktober 1913 in Anwesenheit des sächsischen Königs Friedrich August III. seiner Bestimmung übergeben. Er wurde als Gebäude einer von Dülfer geplanten „Hochschulstadt“ von ihm realisiert.
Dem Konzept folgte noch 1917–1926 der Fritz-Foerster-Bau, ansonsten blieb das von Dülfer entwickelte Konzept auf der Strecke.
Bereits vor ein paar Jahren besuchte ich das Univiertel der Elbmetropole, damals wurde hier im Innenbereich saniert. Inzwischen sind diese Arbeiten abgeschlossen, dafür ist der Bau von außen mit Gerüsten verkleidet.
Das fand ich schade, denn er besitzt einen 41 Meter hohen Observatoriums-turm - eine Landmarke im Stadtbild.
Wen es interessiert, wer der Namensgeber war, dessen Konterfei auch diese Halle schmückt, der kann es hier nachlesen.

Springy wheels of chain links made this a fun and comfortable way to ride across the craters of Classic Space. The high seat gave great views and mounting/dismounting was never a problem in the low gravity environment.

The British Rail Class 17 (also known as the Clayton Type 1) was a class of 117 Bo-Bo diesel-electric locomotives built 1962–1965 by Clayton Equipment Company and their sub-contractor Beyer, Peacock & Co., on behalf of British Railways (BR).
During the 1950s and 1960s BR procured a wide range of Type 1 diesel locomotives, many of them under the Pilot Scheme. However, several officials felt that the single-cabbed arrangement used by the majority of Type 1s presented drivers with visibility difficulties in the 'less convenient' direction. BR therefore approached several manufacturers to seek a new locomotive that had a centre cab and low bonnets to maximise visibility. Clayton were selected to produce their proposed locomotive as the Class 17. Its low engine covers required the use of a pair of Paxman 6ZHXL six-cylinder horizontal engines, which had been intended for powering railcars; it was a somewhat unorthodox arrangement for the era.
Production of the Class 17 was undertaken between 1962 and 1965, with the locomotives being assigned to the north of Britain and the Scottish Region. Early on it was determined that the locomotive was not suited to heavy freight trains, and they quickly acquired a reputation for unreliability largely due to the engines, which continued to deliver poor performance even after extensive modifications. The Class 17 proved to be one of the least successful of the Type 1s, such that by 1967, long lines of unserviceable locomotives could be found stored in less accessible sidings at various locations across the Central Belt of Scotland (e.g. Ardrossan and Millerhill).[2] Withdrawals took place from July 1968 to December 1971, meaning some members of the class had a working life of less than 5 years. One was sold to an industrial user, which has now been preserved.

D9551 was built at Swindon in 1965. Class 14s are known as ‘Teddy Bears’ by enthusiasts, following a comment by Swindon Works’ erecting shop foreman George Cole who quipped, “We’ve built The Great Bear [GWR No 111], now we’re going to build a Teddy Bear.”
D9551 entered British Rail service in September 1965 at Cardiff Canton. Following a move to Hull Dairycoates shed in January 1967, D9551 was withdrawn from BR service in April 1968 after less than two years and seven months in BR service. It went on to work for the British Steel Corporation at Gretton Brook and Corby. It was purchased for preservation at the West Somerset Railway and subsequently moved to the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society in 2003.
The locomotive was acquired from Deeside by the SVR Class 14 Company Limited, arriving on the 25th of November 2013. An overhaul took place at Bridgnorth, and on 30th of April 2016, D9551 underwent its first test run on the SVR between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster. This was followed by a loaded test run on 26th October 2016, after which the locomotive was classified as serviceable. Further work and testing took place however before its debut at the Spring Diesel Festival in May 2017.
D9551 initially carried a non-original golden ochre livery on the SVR, originally an experimental livery carried by BR Class 52 D1015 Western Champion, but in June 2023 was repainted into its original green livery.
Maintained by a small group of hardworking volunteers, D9551 has become a favourite on the SVR and is a useful and reliable locomotive, successfully completing its duties such as rescue locomotive and tail locomotive for the Steam in Lights trains at Christmas.

the Ilyas Bey Mosque is in the miletos ruins, built in 1400 A.D. by Ilyas Bey from The Anatolian Turkish Beylik of Menteşe (1260-1424). The mosque has a square floor plan surmounted by a central dome but the minaret has collapsed.
Immer häufiger sieht man hierzulande die tschechische Baureihe 388. Hier kommt uns am 07.09.23 bei Beyern die 388 002 mit ihrer Kesselwagenfuhre entgegen. Falkenberg ist gleich erreicht.
Blick vom Pöhlberg auf Annaberg-Buchholz im sächsischen Erzgebirge. Die Stadt wurde nach Silbererzfunden Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts als "Nawenstadt bey dem Schregkenbergk" gegründet. Markante Dominante im Stadtbild ist die St. Annenkirche, die größte reine Hallenkirche der Spätgotik in Sachsen. Die Kirche ist seit 2019 Bestandteil des UNESCO Welterebes Montanregion Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří.

(1 of 2) Diesel Rail Tractor X203 - An unusual engine designed and built at the Railways Water Supply Workshops, Chullora between 1963/6666. The X200 class utilized surplus steam engine components including wheel sets from the giant 60 class Garrats. Intended primarily to be used as shunters in depots the main exception was X202 which from 1964 to 1972 was the Yass Tramways sole locomotive. X203 was purchased by the ARHS(ACT) and is on loan to the Yass Railway Museum.
(2 of 2) 1307 CC-79/Z13 Class Locomotive - Built in 1877 by Beyer Peacock (Builders number 1637) originally as a 4-4-0
configuration, this engine entered service with the NSWGR in September the same year as an Express Passenger Tender, road number 92. Remaining in this guise until 1894, when, due to a shortage of Suburban Tank Engines it was decided to trial a conversion of one of the C-79 class engines to a 4-4-2 side tank configuration. In 1999 it was decided to place 1307 at Yass for use as a static display. Total time in active service was a very impressive 94 years and 9 months with the engine having travelled 1,383,190 miles (2,213,107 kilometres).
