The Jet d'Eau is a large fountain in Geneva, Switzerland, and is one of the city's most famous landmarks, being featured on the city's official tourism web site and on the official logo for Geneva's hosting of the 2008 UEFA Championships. It is also one of the largest fountains in the world. Situated at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhone River, it is visible throughout the city and from the air, even when flying over Geneva at an altitude of 10 km (33,000 ft).

Five hundred litres (132 gallons) of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 metres (459 feet) by two 500 kW pumps, operating at 2,400 V, consuming over one megawatt of electricity. The water leaves the nozzle at a speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). When it is in operation, at any given moment there are about 7,000 litres (1849 gallons) of water in the air. Unsuspecting visitors to the fountain—which can be reached via a stone jetty from the left bank of the lake—may be surprised to find.

themselves drenched after a slight change in wind direction.

Orange dragonfly. I saw this dragonfly the other day as I walked past a little pond in my apartment complex.

I had to get a picture of this beautiful flower. A lady in Kingston on Spey told me it was a poppy rose. I am looking for help was she right?

Even though Thanksgiving was still months away when this photo was taken last summer, this wild turkey was taking no chances, and was keeping a wary eye out...

Warm wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all Flickr friends who are celebrating, and Happy Thursday to everyone!

Beutiful reflection in one pf the many reservoirs that make up the landscape of the Elan Valley in mid-Wales. Within the valley are a series of reservoirs constructed over a hundred years ago by the Victorians to supply fresh water to Birmingham more than 70 miles away

Beutiful morning light @pond - Enjoy!

I am amazed that this image that was taken through the car windshield from a moving car with Industar61 with no auto focus came out the way it did! Not to mention that there is no infinity focus with m42 lenses on Nikon DSLRs. The cloud was just too good to pass, so I took a shot.

Beutiful walk in the ravine tonight and the moon came peaking through the poplars.

Weather and time are keeping me in right now so I'm grabbing shots from the past.

It is the month of December and Christmas is surely around the corner, but it has been raining the whole day, so it doesn't feel like winter today, in fact is still autumn over here. Birds have been coming really often to get their seeds and peanuts. They are soaking wet. I'm sure they are very smart and know what to do, but still I wonder how they can survive rain and snow.

So if you have ever wonder how they do it, how they survive, here is something that I just found:

I feel a lot better now :)

So, while waiting for the day to clear up, here is something good to listen, and this guy is still pretty good...

I specially love trees, birds and flowers, but there is so much to see, enjoy and capture during a long hiking trip, a lake, a conservation area, forest or park, the list of places is very long, that is why I am a photographer!

Graphic design is another way to express myself.

I love reinventing a photo that I have seen, in different ways. I use Photoshop to do these transformations, and I also use my own photos to create textures.
