Rudesheim is situated in the the Rheingau and Rüdesheim Rhine River Gorge winery area.

There are dozens of wine tasting and buying venues in Rudesheim. This is one restaurant, tasting room and wine store in Rudesheim.

The room is the cellar of the hotel Felsenkeller.

There are a total of 380 winemakers in the region marketing their own products. Most are family run companies tending vineyards of between four and eight hectares. There are also three local cooperatives and around two dozen large wine estates (between approx. 10 and 50 hectares). These export a considerable proportion of their production and thus contribute to the fame and reputation of Rheingau Riesling.

Great Blue Heron.

Between 39 to 52 inches long with a wingspan of nearly 6 feet. A common large mainly grayish heron with a pale or yellowish colored bill. It is often mistaken for a Sandhill Crane but flies with its neck folded and not extended like the Sandhill Crane. In southern Florida an all-white form, the "Great White Heron", differs from the Great Egret in that they are larger with greenish-yellow legs rather than the black legs of the Great Blue Heron.

Their habitat includes lakes, ponds, rivers and marshes.

They range from Alaska east to Nova Scotia and south to Mexico in the west and the West Indies in the east. They winter as far notrh as southern Alaska, the central United States and southern New England.

The world’s light shines, shine as it will,

The world will love its darkness still.

I doubt though when the world’s in hell,

It will not love its darkness half so well.

A bracing day on Hopeman beach today and when it rained it poured. The temperature is not far off freezing so snow is possible in the next few days.

Darn hot out there again, exacerbated by the upstairs A/C being out. This scene in the Lofoten archipelago in Norway brings back cooler memories.

Thanks for looking!

(Fernando Pessoa, Livro do Desassossego, v.164)

I contemplate streets, people and stones, between fictions and oblivion, inspired by the poet, perhaps, I perceive the shadows of the gestures of others, the poetry of twilight, a restlessness.

Crazy Tuesday - theme of September 22, 2020: High Key

High Key is a term to describe images that are bright and contain little to no shadow - referring to scenes that possess a lot of whites and light tones, but very minimal mid-tones and blacks (that's what I found as general definition).

Taking / editing high key images is rather difficult for me (not wanting to blow the highlights) - I more often tend to do low key ;))

Tiny blossom and a book I randomly took from my shelf (it's poems from Rainer Maria Rilke - The Book of Hours / The Book of Pilgrimage)

HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday :))

Verrückter Dienstag - Thema am 22. September 2020: High Key

beneath the bright expanse of glass, travelers move in silence, their mirrored selves etched into the floor below like shadows of another realm. in black and white, the moment becomes timeless, a meditation on waiting and becoming.

Between Blanchester and Cowan Lake there are a number of farms selling gourds and pumpkins. There are so many different kinds and shapes, it's hard to choose. We buy around a dozen for the holiday displays our granddaughter loves to see and play with. And at three she is good at picking them..it only they came in purple and pink.
