Shot with Canon EOS 400D + Canon 18-55mm
Lean back and look at it in Large
Everything used to be bigger, brighter, louder and more colorful.
It used to be more fascinating and it felt like a real adventure.
It was like a trip to another world full of wild animals and impressive stories.
But its only a pale memory. Its not like that anymore.
Something is different.

I had already forgotten that I had found this beautiful, skeletonized leaf at some point. By chance I came across the book in which I had kept it. Omg, I said - Flickr Friday ;-)))
Thanks for taking your time and looking at my photo, much appreciated!
Like an old farmer this prairie building is looking a bit sway backed. It's a hard life to live up to.
And you asked me what I want this year
and I try to make this kind and clear
just a chance that maybe we'll find better days..
After a storm passes there's a rainbow🌈 as a symbol of Better Days 🌄 to come.
Keep calm and stay safe.

Another shot from Birmingham International on the 14th of August 2001, this time we see 87035 "Robert Burns" with a down working.

Research facility for experimental medicine
Until 2020, the building was both a place for animal testing and where the experimental animals were raised; it contains laboratories, offices and animal stables.
The building is colloquially known as the mouse bunker.
The wagon at Chimney Rock may have seen better days. As for me, spending time touring the world and seeing its many sights is #BetterDays.
I don't know who decided to torture this VW in this manner, but it has definitely seen better days.
Explored 09/16/24 -- much to my surprise!
In the spotlights: spider and her web, who has seen Better Days.
Thanks for taking time to comment, fave and look at my work. I really appreciate.

My 1950's much loved Teddy Bear 😊
Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
Collectors see value. While others may see junk, and ascribe utter worthlessness, the collector can see value in many areas.
A collector sees the potential of reuse. Ah, it is dirty but that can be cleaned. It is missing parts but it still has a frame. And wheels. It could be repurposed.
A collector will consider the wear of time, breakage, and weather as badges of honor for the item. Trophies of the adventures and enjoyment that came before.
And the collector will recognize the value of the better days. Those former days of glory that are not gone. They linger, waiting to shine again.
The teddy bear with the missing eye and ear. The metal truck with an absent wheel and those tell-tale dents. Ah, that was some fun play!
The action figure minus an arm. The kitchen playset with the lost accessories.
Throw them away? No.
There's still value.
So lift your Crazy Bowl of Better Days in salute to those toys that can still keep going!

A year of the shows and performers of the Bijou Planks Theater.
I was excited after I took this photo and didn't take note of the tractor details. I believe it to be an Oliver 1960 1800A 2WD. Photographed in Granger, Texas at Precision AG Repair.

But don't touch my bags if you please

I found this yesterday below the large Tupelo tree in my yard. It's light as a feather, yet look at the dense growth rings! It's about 10 inches long and 3 inches wide, likely longer before it broke off. This limb grew for many, many years! It provided a perch for all kinds of birds and small mammals, and lived through all the extremes of the four seasons. At some point it stopped growing and likely still remained on the tree for years until it was knocked off by a heavier branch recently during a storm. It had many, many Better Days prior to being broken off. But its Better Days continue in a new way: as a multi-ringed document of a long and helpful part of the old Tupelo tree.

My preference is none of the above. I would call it Witch's Hat.

After a rainy day in Newfoundland's Gros Morne a couple of years ago, we drove North to explore some of the coastal fishing villages. Many of these places have seen better days but the character remains and the people still making a living there were wonderfully friendly. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
