Album : Best of 2016. / Expressway.
A new type in the Bus Eireann fleet appeared in service from early 2016. These were commercial acquisitions by the company as opposed to the PSO fleet. Joining the fleet were 20 Volvo B11R's with the revised Sunsundegui body. VE4 is illustrated.
The Best of Scottish Motorsport event held at Knockhill Racing Circuit October 2025 hosted races from a variety of championships under the Knockhill Motor Sports Club (KMSC) and the Scottish Motor Racing Club (SMRC) banners.
This image shows Number 13 in the foreground, a green 1970 MGB GT V8 - RMB 588H - entered by Alastair Baptie, competing in the Scottish Classic Sports & Saloon Championship.
Conditions were very foggy on the second day and the entire day's racing on the Sunday was unfortunately abandoned after the first qualifying session.

Got her last week from Asia just in time for Christmas. Haven't even been able to debox her yet. She is extraordinary and this is the first time Misaki has appeared on my countdown.

With 4 days left in 2024 I will be posting my favorite photo taken in September. September’s photo is another one of Nebraska Central with NCRC 2222 passing some of the wild sunflowers at MP 36 on the Stromsburg Subdivision.

While the skippers were busy in early October visiting the flowering plants on the south side of the swimming pool in the gated community that I live in, I managed to get a dorsal wing-spread of the Eufala Skipper and the Sachem but I thought that I had over-looked the Fiery Skipper but in looking through my skipper images during the 7-10 day period that the skippers were visiting, I did, in fact, manage to get an image of the dorsal wing-spread of a Fiery Skipper and here it is.

Album : Best of 2016 Bus Eireann / Expressway.
Volvo's / Sunsundegui VG13 and VE15 are posed together in Galway. The two types overlapped in service for a very short duration indeed.
Normal company fleet practice is withdrawl by cascade. I am sure some Flickr user may think of one , but I cannot recall any other example where one type replaced another one for one and the displaced type left the fleet.

1916 was always going to be a big year in Ireland with the centenary of the Easter Rising. Many new tours were introduced.
Dublin Bus prepared converted 'AX544' in to a tour bus dedicated to a new 1916 tour. The concept was broadly similar to the well proven Ghostbus tour complete with heavily modified interiors and using actors as guides.
The pair are seen shortly before AX544 assumed it new role.
When I think 'best of' I don't necessarily mean the single best photo that I lensed. That would be impossible for me to pick. Rather, I take into account the totality of the circumstances involved. This was the second of a 2-day April jaunt to the DL and R&N with Steve and Zach; my first vacation dedicated wholly to railfanning. Our original plan kind of fell apart, so after a satisfying morning chasing one of the Humboldt locals, we made for Barnesville to meet up with Brian and Tim for the NRFF. Stories were traded while rumors of a matched SD50 'Fast Freight' consist swirled in the air. A couple of other people showed up at Barnesville, so we decamped for the Tamaqua tunnel. A short time later we were amply rewarded when 3 whites popped out of the tunnel into perfect sunlight. A phenomenal chase ensued up to Duryea before we said our goodbyes and headed for home. The backup plan certainly worked. All in all, one for the books.

I love this little girl, but I have to make sure to remind myself that she isn't mine and that I only walk her. Originally, I was terrified of letting her off the lead and losing her, but no need for that. Despite the fact she's not mine, she'll keep looking back and waiting for me to catch up. I've only got to cough, or sneeze and she looks at me all concerned. One of the many things I love about her, is that she seems to appreciate her beautiful surroundings and nature just as much as I do. She'll sit next to me in the woods, all alert, with her floppy ears as pricked up as they can be, listening to every sound and taking it all in. If I stop to take photos, like here in Pett Woods, she'll sit or slump down waiting for me to get on with it. Tish is an absolute delight :-)

Steathgas Inc ship 'Gas Cerberus' makes a splash of colour as it arrives in bright winter sunshine.
Looking a bit more cheery that its mythological name might at first suggest is LPG tanker 'Gas Cerberus'
The ship and sisters from the fleet are frequent visitors to Dublin.

We visited Barcelona last month and I was so fascinated with the city. It really offers a lot, from new to old, from modern to antique, from city to the beach.
That’s’ why I choose this picture today. On the left side .. the city with it’s buildings and their orange rooftops, on the other side, a couple of minutes away, you can have sand under your feet and enjoy salty water to your content. What a great city ..

Ten versions of Poppy Parker made their way into my collection this year and I couldn't pick just one. The current environment of scalpers and secondary market prices for Poppy has become so toxic, I've almost given up on this line. I have been blessed to get the ones I acquired and refuse to pay the ridiculous markup on dolls.
