Another one from our trip to the Palouse.

I am still having issues with Flickr. It's very slow and I keep getting bad pandas. For those of you who don't know, I found it interesting that the bad panda image came from someone's post five years ago, and it now has almost 633,000 views because it was used by Flickr. Here it is: www.flickr.com/photos/toyokazu/8644384737/

Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River. The overlook is 4,200 feet (1,300 m) above sea level, and the Colorado River is at 3,200 feet (980 m) above sea level, making it a 1,000-foot (300 m) drop. Went there four times at sunrise, sunset, cloudy day and sunshine day, the picture was taken in a cloudy day. The light was soft, not so strong, loving the soft sun’s ray illuminating canyon’s twisting sandstone cliffs. I posted photos before, this photo was not including the sky, just the soft light on the cliff rocks and river…

Explore a meandering, horseshoe-shaped section of the Colorado River known as Horseshoe Bend, must join tour to visit those areas. “Horseshoe bend and slot canyon tour” at sunset time, this section of horseshoe bend is the private area, getting there were like on the kind of “horse” wagon, up and down on the road, sunshine, raining, hail, sunshine... what a weather! Arrived another side of horseshoe bend, like that quiet feeling facing to spectacular desert landscape shaped by wind and water.

I couldn't resist the title - sorry. This shot is taken literally round the bend of the road from Farleigh Wallop on the way to Ellisfield. It is a favourite stop of mine and I am not surprised that when I have met others at this point they too say they have come out of the town just to sit at this point in the road and look back down the dip[ and up the other side of the valley.

Another photo from our walk through Long Timber Woods at Ivybridge at the very southern tip of Dartmoor National Park. The arch in the background is a fallen tree which landed in this odd orientation. I took another photo further upstream with that tree as the main focus but the bend of the river here looked more interesting in the end.

I love to drive in the country in Autumn--I just can't wait to see what is around the bend!!! HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT WEEK SO FAR----I AM BUSY TODAY--CATCH YOU LATER--THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO STOP IN!

Sometimes the best bird of the day is close to home. After making the trip to the coast in search of migrants and having little luck I spent the last couple of hours of sunlight birding very near my home where I encountered this Painted Bunting. I’m sure glad he seems to have set up a territory and to be here for the summer. Lucky me!!

I know I have not posted a picture for literally ages but as you all know, life can get busy. After 2 years of hiatus, traveling for work and conferences is back to almost pre-covid normal so I was finally able to go to a conference in Las Vegas. Knowing how close Grand Canyon is, I didnt miss the chance to drive there and visit this breathtaking natural wonder. More pictures of the Canyon will follow, with more detail about its size and vastness, but here is probably the most photographed spot of the Grand Canyon, the famous Horseshoe Bend in Page, AZ.

Your vision can bend reality, you might see things unseen. Your sight is a sight of an artist. Where others see trees, you might see the forest. Where others see a dezert, you might see the ocean. Your vision can turn nothing to something. That's the creativity. So what do you see?

Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park. Beautiful Sunrise views means a good place to meet other photographers. A busy spot in early morning and worth it!

... in the Snake River. Long exposure in the early early morning light. This was very much the blue hour, but warmed this up a little with the White Balance. It was one glorious morning there in the Grand Tetons, and hope to return there again some day(s).

Maybe many days :)))
